Albany passed state budget 600 million

On a side note, Albany finally passed a 600 million spending budget...I dont think it is a big deal but coincidentally, it was 90 days passed due and we havnt had a class in almost as many days.   With this said July 1st is coming...The begining of the fiscal year!  Im pretty sure the next 125 or so people that are left will get made asap...  As for us, I think we have at least another 4-6 months until they begin promoting.

NEW YORK - The NYPD is planning to cancel the 2010 police academy class due to budget cuts, bringing the nations largest police department head count to 34,771, down from earlier projections of 37,838. Announced during Tuesdays City Council public safety committee meeeting, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the city will hire a class of 1,600 recruits in July of 2010 but that they could end up hiring more officers when President Obamas stimulus package beings to take effect.

So i see i pretty big class of almost 2k going in!  OBama money, New fiscal year...
