Promotions for this class will be just before Thanksgiving in November.
In other words, class will go in August 31 and they will be done after 4 weeks or so (by end of September). After the BMOC they will return back to their own command for 6 weeks before getting promoted.
One advice - don't burn your bridges because you're going to go back!

Where did you hear this? And if thats true then that means no new bmoc until at least December?
Gotham I agree do not burn your bridges this is true, no matter where you are and where you come from. But this graduating in November sounds like total BS. My first question is give your source of this info. Let me guess a friend of a friend who cleans my brothers car at the car wash knows this guy and he said. Could it be true, with this job yes. But give me the source and we can all check, or are you into giving just bad info, and be the giver of bad news, with nothing to back it up. Yes they had a class that was sent back before, but they did not do enforcement. Think about this why would your command take you back because you are empty supervisor. In other words you will not collar, since sgt's normally do not do that. And if you get jammed up( at your command) doesn't the NYPD lose the money they paid to train you for 3 weeks. I think you are messing up this with the fact that the sgt's can not be promoted to LT's because of the contract, until at least Nov.Ladies and gentleman I have friends (trusted) who teach BMOC and I will ask them, if this is true, I will post it. Until you hear a solid source believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Again to all my brothers and sisters waiting Good Luck and God bless. The hands kill the eyes do not PLEASE STAY SAFE ALL

Yep, I might get things confused confused as you said. Maybe I'm just reading too much into the newspaper article from Post which was my source at the first place. Good luck at BMOC. I hope to be there soon myself.
Phil Atio are you stll around talking about how you havent looked back after getting put into a detail with only three years. No more PMs say it for the rest of the class to hear.
I want me some Obama chicken. Yo son u see dat sign. Obama cooked dat sssiet. Hold my grill n#gga so I can eat. You no whats even funnier is that half the perps on this job {which account for roughly 60% in my book) probably eat there regulary while telling their boyz when the robbery post has meal. Like I've said before, this job is a joke. Use it and abuse it for all its worth. Completely ass-rape it b4 it has the chance to return the favor!!!!!

NOt for nothing but if you ask around to other departments Suffolk ,Nassau, State Troopers (go ahead and feel free to) but what gives us a bad name is the utter lack of professionalism and the garbage this dept has hired to just meet quotas ie. sergeants wearing their hat crooked brim to the side, cops with dreads hanging a foot down their back, every other perp in the city having a pba card, hot97 blasting in rmps promoting drug dealing and gang violence, gyms in the precinct playing the same music, transit cops wearing jordans with red laces, and bosses scared to address it because as soon as they do someone cries EEO. I can go on and on and on. So before you start saying I'm spreading racism or whatever get your facts right because I'm right on with mine and I am not making anything up.
What the **** @ zoo it's mother ****ers like you that should not be on this job, just because someone wears jordans means they are in a gang what the ****? You are no better than any perp on the street no matter what color! If a cop risks their life on the streets he or she should be able to wear whatever the **** they want to as long as it is ****ing paid for! I wish a mother****er would tell me to cut my dreds or don't wear sneakers that I bought r u ****ing kidding me we all risk our lives everyday. Oh and by the way I know where u work so your C O will be getting a call as well as some cops at your command so I can let them know what kind of ****ing racist you really are!
Sorry did that anger you. And once again someone crying racism or EEO when someone tells him how it is. I can give a crap if you have dreads or wear jordans. My point was how noone is willing to conform. Does a cop in Jordans in uniform look professional. Or how about with dreads or any hair type for that matter going a foot down his back. If you answered yes you are a complete ass. And why dont you address my other comments about gangsta rap blasting in police vehicles. And bosses with their caps tilted to the side. Because you dont have a leg to stand on. ANd are you kidding me "Im gonna call your C.O." Go call my C.O. you jack ass. I think most people know how I feel about pieces of hsit who completely embarass the uniform. ANd wear the hell did I mention that wearing jordans means you are in a gang.

Really more of a Rant topic, but interesting nonetheless. Zoo's approach might have been a little harsh but he's not that far off. Sorry Haters....but you lost me when you said "you should be able to wear whatever the fuuck you want as long as it's paid for." That's ridiculous. We are supposed to be professionals and a big part of what we are and who we are is the uniform. The physical appearance of many people on this job is embarassing. It doesn't mean they're bad cops haters, it just means they look like shiit.
Bottom line wear what u want or listen to what u want as long as u wear the uniform professionally while on duty out of respect to those who lost their lives in the LOD.
TiNmAn.......AMEN! You hit the proverbial nail on the head. If the uniform and compliance is not your thing, then leave. This Dept. has lost a lot more luster than people think.
First off I thought he meant the cops wear the jordans to work not on patrol! Second I have never seen a cop in UNIFORM wearing their dreds down their back , but I have seen a female officer in uniform from the 66 with her hair way down her back that's not appropriate either, but I guess special rules for special people. zoo it's not that hard to say where you work at please use your spell check, before you try and speak to me!

umm so back to the topic, anyone know when the next bmoc class is going in and how many??? LOL
Hi Hater, unfortunately you will always have to deal with ignorant ppl on this job. Just make sure when you make boss ur fair and don't pre-judge.
At the end of the day, it don't matter what music ur playing or what ur wearing to work as long as ur there when i call that 85.
These ppl that make racsist remarks do it on these forums because well, they don't have the balls to say it to someone's face. They hide behind the catchy user names and stupid avatars.
but more importantly, when the heck is this 09 list coming out!!
Patience. That's what we learn from waiting for this list to come out(or getting promoted). Maybe we can use it when we get made. In the mean time make the best of your time as a cop.
Wait a minute. what is wrong with blasting any type of music in a rmp?
I think this job is so stressful whatever(except drugs or alcohool of course) can make your day go easy, go ahead do that. me personaly when the riding dirty track came out i used to blast it in the rmp. On the other hand i think uniform is uniform. There are a lot of slappy dressed cops on the job. They make us look bad. I think a jordan would be ok if its black and as per regulation.
