Your Opinion

Is there anybody with more or less reliable info about 2008 list?

Just curious if Department might cut the current 2008 Sgts list?

Why would they cut the current list?confuse 681 on the list and should all be promoted. IT's just gonna take a little time....

Could be due to a financial situation or if they stop promoting for a long time and activate the new list 2009. They cut the list in the past so that is possible.

DONT THINK THEY WILL CUT THE LIST. THE LIST IS LESS THAN 600.

They have already skipped atleast ONE person due to not having enough time on. They have to go back and promote that person. The list will not expire until then (Jan 2010)

Why would they kill a list with eligible names just to go on to another list with eligible names? That makes no sense.

Theres about 400 people left on the 2008 list waiting to get promoted. Thats easily doable in 2009-early 2010.

If anything they will just hold onto the lists a little longer and not make an exam for 2010 if they have enough eligibles to promote for a while.

i would think they would use the entire 2008 list since it is so small, worse case scenario they just wont establish a list for 2009 test

they will establish both lists. they need sgts and cops. Less sgts means less supervision, less supervision means corruption etc just like in the 70s. they dont need headache and federal commisions, that destroys Mayors' future ambitions. they just going to have a pool of potential candidates and hire from there. otherwise when it was evident that economic downturn is looming, they would just cancel 09 upcoming test, they wouldnt wait for it.
The City Hall will be hollering and predicting budgetary doomsday just to attract feds attention and get some dough. city will get 3.5 billion from the administration and on top of the they will cut down on ot and other stuff. with that it will be enough to put couple of classes which will open up promotional pool. thats all...
