3rd tier is actually 74k, just a mere 454 dollars over a top pay cop at this pointbleh, for the rest of us recently promoted we are step 1 73k.

The SBA is probably stuck trying to get the new Sgt's to a better tier because of the economic times.  There are a bunch of us that will take big pay cuts over the short term by getting promoted.  bleh

basically cops top base pay is $2820 (per pay period)

Pay for a sgt just starting out is 2800. (per pay period)

They don't take money away from you when you get promoted.  If a 3rd grade Det. at top pay gets promoted, they don't reduce his/her salary

to starting pay of a Sgt.

A Sgt with 1 year in rank gets $2819 per pay period...

Word is that the SBA is waiting for the DEA to settle their contract revision before they resettle.
