if your still on list 6513 and waiting to be promoted post here .So ill have people to contact in case suing become's necessary we cango at it together.
You will all get promoted! Your list numbers were skipped so they do have to hire you. If it was me, I would call DCAS or personnel and find out why I was skipped if I have enough time on.
IT WONT BE A WRAP THATS WHAT LAWYERS ARE FOR.I didnt spend 2 years studying 6 plus hours aday to be in t he single digits on this list.I Took pension loan to pay for college to get my credits .Went to school 3 days a week for a year and half just to have anyone say hey its a wrap.Ill let the city tell a federal court why i was discriminated against with nothing holding me up? The one in the 3 rule is nothing more then an excuse they use .When the feds get involved the 1 in 3 rule doesnt fly.belive me ive seen it happen oh and ill take 2 million in damages as well.I just hope the city does the right thing and lets bygones be bygones.i got my official your skiped letter back in jan ,all it siaid was your ineligible and your being skipped and your seat is being given to someone else.the editings where for my dumb computer acting like an aZZ.

well your trying poorly not to argue with me ,its just irritating to here you or anyone say thats a rap like its no big deal . Ive seen plenty sue and win ,the job cant not promote you and come up with some dumb reason.remember all those oeeo classes they force down our throats ,there discriminating .if there is nothing holding you up ,and they hold you because 10 years ago you got charges and specs for b.s thats discrimination.Im not arguing with you either its just very fustrating that ive been held for 13 months for no reason .Then i hear "well thats a wrap",its very fustrating.you try to do the right thing you keep your nose clean and then no matter what you do its not enough for them.
No one is going to die on a list that is only comprised of 331 names, thats ridiculous.. you will get promoted, its just the classes are small. thats all.
im not doubting that i will or wont ,this whole process is beyond whats called for.To be put through the ringer over and over and over again is crazy.i dont expect a 5 year wonder(no offense) to understand.im not saying you are,but some guys who have 5 years on driving up and down 2nd ave writting parkers waiting to hit 5 year to get promoted are hardley what i call understanding.They havent seen the dark side of the job and how badly it can mess with you over nothing .i have a little story .Back in sept when i went to get carbed and i was awaiting there decision.i get a phone call from emd to make a long story short.she goes on to say hey congrats on passing your carb your in the oct class .She tells me to wait and puts me on hold.she gets back on a couple of minutes later and says "oh sorry i made a mistake" .She apologizes and hangs up ,is that right ? is that moraly corrupt.im not saying she did it on purpose or had some agenda she was following.Its just one hell of an emotional rollcoaster i could do without.
Everyone who is currently in BMOC, which is mostly all from 6513, have been notified their will be no promotions on January 30 and will be sent back to commands. So I highly doubt there will be another class in February and possibly March.
there are 3 sgts in the class that was previously promoted. the others will go back to their commands until feb 23 ; that is when they will be promoted. PPL it is done all the time don't stress out they can still put in more classes just can't promote them until the budget gets better.
Also, between PO and Sgt is not much of a difference in pay. Theory could be they are putting in 250 recruits on January 14 and that has taken a bite out of the proposed budget as we originally was not going to have a class to begin with. But does it really make that much of a siginficant dent in the budget between Jan 30 and Feb 23 to postpone, not likely.
I'll take a gamble and bet that there will not be another class off of 6513. They will eventually promote the current class and expire the exam.

I am far from killing the messenger but the reality is this isn't in the norm and nothing is definitive, so Feb 23 might be a date that is put out their BUT reality is it's not guaranteed. Nothing is on this job. I'm sure the Jan 09 class was told on the first day they were getting promoted on January 30 and you would think/assume it was fact but GUESS WHAT CAT! they are getting sent back to command.
Ok ill take the feb 23 promotiona s gospel but what about future classes? to be honest im not all to interested in this class im thinking about the next one.Im not trying to sound mean but facts are facts .if there getting promoted on feb 23 they must be putting in a class for them to graduate with ?
hazard- i am with you all the way brother. our first day we were told about jan 30 and by the 2nd /3rd day we were given the list of uniform items needed and told "not to wait" and we will be inspected 'at least twice' before graduation. i dont see what difference feb 23 will make. be prepared for the end of june,closer to the citys fiscal budget year.another finest message to come down extending our list again. this is just my opinion
dear feline, read my post on the 2007 site about what happened yesterday in class. if 'you were told' as you say about feb 23 then why? what is it about that date? by the way its not "thats that, or its a wrap" p.s. i have gotten cds,ccrbs,lost time and put on punishment posts all while waiting to be promoted, but thats the price for being on patrol.
Everything said might be speculation might be true, might be wishful thinking. But let's all take a deep breath and think about this a little bit. Our everly business minded mayor has ordered massive budget cuts, his mantra is 'do more with less'. He has effectually limited supervisor promotions to the minimal number a year that he possibly can. Do the math: 671 people on list 7508, minus the 271 that have been vetted promoted or passed over for some reason or the other, leaves exactly 400 more bodies on the list to go thru. If on the average the make 30 sgts every other month they can drag list 7508 out for two yrs maybe even two and a half yrs. Then the city can take a year and a have to make the list for the Feb 09 test extend the 7508 list for a year so no one dies on that list and voilą, the city has guarenteed themselves a pool of promotable bodies for three to four years thru the recession. I know we are all on edge, but I really don't believe this is about anybody dying on any list. It's about the city protecting itself thru this recession. We just have stress about keeping our noses clean so we can be promoted.
