conflicting answers. i was wondering for when i formulate my picks when and if i get promoted. if i could carry them ill try to get the best picks if not it really doesnt matter what i pick. thanks guys.
Almost every answer here is wrong. Supervisors vacation picks DO NOT carry over under any circumstances. If a particular week you picked is available in your new command, you'll get it. Other than that, unless the C.O. makes an exception and allows you to double up with another Sgt., you will have to pick different weeks. If you transferred lets say, three times in a year, you'll have to go through the same process all over again at each new command.
I have to disagree puzzle. My command has gone through many bosses and none have had any trouble with there vacation carrying over including summer picks, A picks and I.V.D.'s.
That's only because the command allowed it. It's even in the Patrol Guide or the Admin Guide. I forgot which one. Picks are not guaranteed and do not have to be carried over when changing commands as a supervisor. But, if your C.O. is decent enough, he'll allow you to keep what you have. I have actually seen the opposite in my prior commands. When a new Sgt comes, they re-pick. I used to be an Admin Sgt. so I know how these things work. In my command, they re-pick. Bottom line is, don't expect to keep what you have.
