Unless you have true inside info, it's difficult to keep exact records but I believe last MOS's list number who was promoted was 230.

I did...spoke to a good source and she said that the budget or the cancellation of the jan class means nothing...they still need sgt's because they're short on them as it is and they have to replace the sgt's that are retiring. besides a sgt's pay for the first few years compared to a top pay cop is not a big difference....the city might even save money because the top pay cop gets more O.T......that last part just my opinion

There are about 25-30 passovers from the 2007 exam, so I would think that there are probably about the same amount on the 2008 exam waiting for 5 years in Jan. I would guess that the 75 that are rumored to go in on Jan 5 would be mostly passovers, so I doubt the list numbers would go so high. (Like I said, I GUESS, no real info here)

Heres what I did

50 guys are eligible from number 230 to 290
25 guys are eligible because they finally hit their 5 year mark on January 2009 and their number was already called

50 + 25 = 75

7 people from 230 to 290 hit 5 years July 2009
3 people from 230 to 290 hit 5 years January 2010
un-jammed up guys from list number 0 to 230 I figure will probably wash out with new jammed up guys from list number 230 to 290

Ballpark number 290

The guys from list 0 to 290 that didn't hit their 5 year mark yet are comprised of July 2009 and January 2010 guys (not January 2009 guys). I think.

I have heard the same thing , that usually a large group of promotions occurs around thanksgiving but with everyone on here saying no December class I am skeptical.

my Lt called BMOC and they said there will be a class for Dec. Approx. 30-35
He also does a training session at BMOC and had to add it to his schedule for Dec. FYI

as per as my knowledge and information from my fellow cops, I think there will ba a Dec 1 class or minimum of 30 max of 35.

Some one works inside told me that my list number will be called in dec and my list number in between 260and 270.
