Under 205-36 (OEEO and employment discrimination), they write "immediately telephone facts to OEEO during business hours. During non-business hours, leave message on answering machine"
But in the PG it says "immediately upon observing conduct/becoming aware.... telephone to OEEO during business hours or the next business day". Which seems to read that you can wait until the next business day to call?
Also under resignation they tell you that the DO needs to collect the fuel card despite that this was knocked out by an IO over a year ago. Not to mention that their material randomly throws in ICO and CO duties. Kind of annoying.
Yes unborn when I was studying it was the same thing some of the material on the CD was outdated and because of studying you can pick up on those things. For me the classes did help with test taking techniques, learning in basket stuff but other than that you have to read the patrol guide. Some people solely rely on the classes to study and then fail. My opinion i am not going to spend 600 bucks to fail, thats just me. Good luck to everyone studying.
unborn that is not correct what you stated. Actually , you must be very careful to make sure you read specific details . It does not say in that patrol guide section to call oeeo and if they are not there to call next business day. What the key put, is sort of a different way but it is from what the guide says. Here is the direct lines.
"III. Any supervisor or E.E.O. Liaison who observes conduct of a discriminatory nature, becomes aware of an allegation or complaint of discrimination or sexual harassment, or who observes or becomes aware of any act of retaliation regarding E.E.O. matters, must notify the O.E.E.O., via telephone, or in person, by the next business day. "
The last line there means exactly what is says. So the key telling you to contact them or leave a message by next business day is correct.

Sometimes Interim orders dont remove all the stuff it should. Again, Read carefully.

That's not what I said. My interpretation of the PG was that you have to notify them by the next business day while The Key says call them immediately.
And the IO did remove Fuel Cards, the Resignation procedure has nothing about them.
There is also another conflict. The patrol guide says that night sights are optional for off-duty weapons is prior to Sept. 12, 1994. The key handouts for last year and this year says Sept. 12, 2004. Make sure to read the patrol guide !!

a word of advice from someone who has been thru this. the key will have a ton of errors in there hand outs trust me!! I once brought it up to one of the instructers and his response was "well I didn't type this up". wow good job there buddy. if I wouldve failed by one point b/c of an error in one of the hand outs I'd be pissed!! if u r confused on something ALWAYS go with the p.g. over the handouts!!!
Actually the Key puts conflicts in the material to separate the men from the boys..Its good that you catch their mistakes. It means your studying.Dont share it with anyone especially if you dont like them..I love the KEY.
there is NO WAY a promotional school is putting out mistakes on purpose to separate the men from the boys !!, and if they are doing it on purpose, then they are dumb. I am sure they are just careless mistakes
herWEgo, the Sept 12, 1994 date is for SERVICE 9MM's, here is an exerpt from PG 204-09 "Required Firearms Equipment" page 3 of 4. This procedure makes no mention of night sights for off-duty weapons, if there is a date that requires members to have night sights on their off-duty, it must be in an operations order or an interim order. There has to be some order out there regarding off-duty firearms, because the PG still includes the Kahr K-9 as an authorized off-duty, when it is not and it does not list the Sig off-duty which is now authorized. Hope this helps.
EQUIPMENT FOR USE WITH SERVICE 9MM PISTOL 8. Regulation Holster - black leather, designed with safety lock, in eight (8) models: a. Glock, Model 19, right and left handed b. Smith & Wesson, right and left handed c. Sig Sauer, right and left handed d. 9MM holster with flap, right and left handed. 9. Two (2) Magazines and Pouches - as authorized by the Equipment Section, with fifteen (15) cartridges in each. 10. Belts (Two [2]) - (for equipment: black leather, 2 ¼ inches wide with gunmetal buckle); (for trousers: black leather, 1 ½ inches wide with gunmetal buckle). Equipment belt will cover trouser belt, both to be worn firmly around the waist. 11. Night Sights - ensure Tritium night sights are installed. Installation by anyone other than a Firearms and Tactics Section gunsmith is not permissible. Pistols purchased at the Equipment Section on or after September 12, 1994, are already equipped with night sights installed by the manufacturer. The use of night sights by uniformed members authorized to carry 9MM pistols prior to September 12, 1994, is optional.
I studied and successfully passed this exam thanks to my own efforts of reading the Looseleaf's Patrol Guide & Fast Track's Total Guide!!!! I also read KSA's condensed version too! Their questions, notes and ACRONYMS really helped. As for "The Key" is concerned, I wasn't satisified with their notes. They seemed all out of order. The instructors read verbatim from the PG. However, their questions were really good. Here's my order of the best Promotional Schools: 1. The Fast Track 2. KSA 3. Rising Star 4. The Key 5. NYPD PA Instructors Here's my list of the best exam like questions in order,....... 1. NYPD PA (Intranet) 2. Rising Star 3. KSA 4. The Key 5. The Fast Track. Stay motivated and study hard because in the end it will pay off!!!!
kahr k9 is an authorized off duty weapon. it is not authorized to be carried off duty if purchased after a certain date. if u purchased and qualified b4 the order came down, then u may still carry.
The Kahr K9 and Sig Sauer P239 off-duties were deleted/added by a Finest message. Same thing with the turtleneck/shirt combo. Neither appear in the PG yet .
interim orders count on the exam, they are all posted on the intranet. however, finest messages, although they may change patrol guide procedure, are not really documented anywhere other than the books at the t/s of pcts and such. so unless you actually have the finest message print out to prove to DCAS during a protest period, you should go with what is in the patrol guide.
