BMOC 2008-05

First day of BMOC 2008-05 was good, as anticipated many breaks during the day and the guest speakers were not bad. The small class does not help much when your trying to make up the sleep you lost last night thinking about your first day. Overall exciting and interesting. Will keep you guys and gals posted.

Class wasn't too bad, had a speaker from domestic violence and early intervention today. Small group getting promoted but all seem like good people.

You know what the Lt who represented the Data Integrity Unit was pretty interesting, I would have thought that the Lt from the Hostage Negotiation Team would have been more interesting but I did not think so. We also did a roll call and learned Command Log entries. Next is Taser Training and EDP training.

Actually i was in class # 4 and all the instuctors were very pro cop and told you to look out for them and that the cops are what make you look good. That was from the lt. down, especially the sgt who worked in a very busy command. Somehow things must get lost in translation when sgts get to new commands. lol

The staff there gives good advice. What people do with it is up to them....

There are people that I will not give advice to because they listen with such a negative attitude that they don't hear what you are saying. Or they can't recognize sarcasm. Or they don't understand .............. yada yada yada

It might be a "glass half full" vs a "glass half empty" thing.

To quote Cool hand luke ..........there seems to be a communication gap (or some such thing was said).

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

That dream sheet is horrible, & I trully hope the sba does something about its contract hopefully the difference between top pay cop & bottom pay sgt is significant by the end of it.

Hs Im guessing you called the sba office & they said they are looking into the contract?

What I noticed interesting about the dream sheet is that there are 21 people in the bmoc class but only 20 picks. This is very strange.
