As far as RisingStarPromotion.com, I used the Patrol Guide Digest. I passed the '08 test after utilizing that and a helluva lucky saturday.

well I guess u did get lucky cuz that pg digest really sucked big time!it left out sooo much info. if I just used that to study I think I wouldve bombed the exam. atleast someone passed just from that.

The Patrol Guide Digest is designed to be used with the questions AND the actual Patrol Guide.  The Digest contains procedures frequently found on the exam; we also do not include "common-sense" statements, e.g. '...value human life,' or 'use only the minimum amount of force neccessary...' (we figure most of the people studying will know this, whether they read it or not)

Our questions may be from procedures not included in the Digest; we do this so that you are forced to look in the actual Patrol Guide.  To retain all the information needed for the exam requires a unique approach to studying and by looking up that question we drew from a procedure not included in the Digest, for example, might stand-out on test day.  You may not remember the specific procedure all the time, but you will remember: a conversation with a friend; that procedure X is in the patrol guide but not the Digest and that's why you got the question wrong; that you heard so-and-so says xyz...etc...

I thought the rising star worked great. The main problem is (and this is true of all the courses), too many people relied on the condensed versions of the Patrol Guide. There is no other way to ensure a passing grade other than to read the Patrol Guide. Don't take any short-cuts, you have to actually read the damn thing. All these digests are meant to supplement your reading, not replace it.

NOT TRUE.I passed 03 sgts test and 06 LT TEST never opened the actual patrol guide.Both list numbers below 400

Risingstar can you advice if your questions are going to be different then the 2008 edition.
I have the 2008 do i need to get the 2009? aside from the interim orders,, etc etc is it preety much the same questions?

The procedures that stayed the same will have the same questions. The new procedures and updated procedures will have brand-new questions.
