Don't make me laugh. Please "Reason people get promoted is for the money? I don't know what department you work for, but I'm sure it isn't NYPD.

I actually do work for this dept. and if you have noticed everytime you get promoted you make more money than your previous position. I do realize the pay is not where we would all want it to be but top pay Sgt. to top pay P.O. right now is a pretty big difference isnt it?  and you make even more money when you get promoted to Lt and the only way there is through Sgt. .......wake up dude it is about Money....MONEY WITHOUT HAVING TO KILL YOURSELF WITH o.t.

OLeiry I made over 100,000 last year and did not write a single summons, make a collar, search a prisoner.Always a Brand new RMP. most important I definately did not have to work 600 hours of ot to do it..So yes becoming a boss is definately worth it.We are not Nassau Suffolk and never will be....SO OLEIRY YOU CAN JUST SAY WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH but dont hate people for trying to make a better life.....

y get promoted? Less work, more money. It's not that ****in hard to figure out. I made 95 last year as a rookie sgt, not killing myself at all. I'll blast past a 100 this year. There's no comparison, it's not the right choice...it's the ONLY choice. Don't be influenced by the zeros, the hairbags and the crybabies. Don't be influenced by the vermin that spew their negativity on the rant. Don't be influenced by the boneheads that still sit around crunching numbers on their calculator, trying to figure out their salary after that "big perb award" comes down. If you plan on staying on this job for twenty years, you HAVE to get promoted. Period. And hey, from an ego standpoint, at least now you're not the same rank as some of the illiterate retards that are coming on this job.
