some info needed

I should be making it into the July class, but i have a few questions.  First, i am pretty sure my dress uniform will not fit me anymore from the academy, not even close. Do you need to buy new dress pants with different size stripe ? Second, does anyone know a good place iIf in Queens, or Nassau county where you can get alterations done. Also, should you have all of this done before you go to bmoc or are you supposed to wait?  If someone could explain some of these things , it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You definitely need Class As for the graduation. However, apart from the Sgts hat, shield and gold nameplate, everything else is PO.

If you need a new Class-A Summer Blouse, then you might as well get it now. They are a special order in most places and it might take awhile to get it. I think the measurements and alterations are included.

Do not put Chevrons on them. You CANNOT wear them at graduation (but you must have the appropriate hash mark). You also CANNOT wear the Sgts pants at the ceremony. They must have the PO piping. You can probably get away with regular admin pants if they are in good shape but I would bite the bullet and invest in a new uniform. After the ceremony you can go back and get the Chevrons and wider piping put on.

I couldnt recommend a place. I still have my originals and I think the place I got them is gone. Hopefully someone else can help you there.

Apart from the class A stuff. I wouldnt invest in anything else right now. When BMOC starts, you can get all the stuff you need at 1PP.  It's the cheapest by far and you can order online.  They ship it to your house in a few days.  It's a ground ball.  You can get a nameplate during meal on 21st street for less than $10 bucks.  The alterations and patches can done at your local dry cleaner. You have an entire month to get it done and its really no big deal.

Hope this helped.

Thanks, doa, now to find a list of retailers, for Queens, or Nassau.

The equipment section has a list of authorized places for dress uniforms, try giving them a call.

You are right, first thing is first. No reason to argue over non sense. I hope i make it by the end of the Summer. I hit 5 years on July 3rd.  Everyone you talk to gives you different information. Just want to be prepared that's all. Good luck to all.
