a sgt that I know works at 1pp for the commissioners office and he told me. also a friend of mine who just finised b-moc told me thats what the instructers r saying.

here here jagged, 5 years is enough to figure out if the guys a deuche. If a cop sgt etc. is a moron at 5 years he will be a moron at 15 years & vice versa. idea

The CITY is killing this job. If you haven't noticed five year wonders are looked up to as guys with time on. In my squad I am the only with an IVD pick. C3 has one guy and 2 has 3 guys with IVD's. It is insane that with 5 years on I have more time on than almost half this job. So get used to bosses that get their hash mark and chevrons on the same day. Its just the way it is.

I agree with he sentiment but its not the 5-Year Wonders killing this job

Im a 5-Year wonder and I possess the common sense and humility to know I have no business dictating to an experienced Detective how an investigation should be handled. I know this because I am not an stupid a$$hole. It has nothing to do with TOJ.

You're absolutely right. Wise bosses aren't afraid to admit they don't know something. They stay out of the way of any cop who knows what they are doing and gets the job done. I know a lot of bosses with quite a bit of time who lack that wisdom. We all do.

Its simple, if you dont want to take orders from some clueless kid that looks like McLovin, then you have one choice: study hard, get promoted and become the kind of boss you always wanted yourself.

Don't think you're escaping anything though. There'll be plenty of shake boxes and micromanaging boobs above the rank of Sgt to make your life miserable.

I JUST HEARD A RUMOR FROM A GUY FROM DCAS, THAT THEY ARE CONTEMPLATING ON THREE DOUBLE ANSWERS AND THREE THROWN OUT. I WON'T BELIEVE UNTIL I SEE IT, BUT THAT IS THE RUMOR.

On the 2006 test there were 3 throw outs (A/B/C/D) and 1 double answer.

On the 2007 test there were 2 throw outs (A/B/C/D) and 4 double answers.

Figure at least 3 are getting thrown out on the 2008 test, I would think as many as 5, so it will boost a few of our scores, and also with a little luck maybe a few of the 69's and 68's will make the list.

It all depends on how many sgt.'s they feel necessary. If 1500 people passed the test don't bet on many throwouts. If 500 passed the test I would look for 3-5 throwouts. They throw out questions to boost the number of people who passed the exam. Nothing can stop them from saying, sorry, (x) is the answer, deal with it. The last LT test I believe had zero throwouts. Not because there weren't any questionable answers, but because they had 1280 people pass and they knew they only needed probably 800-900 to cover the next 3-4 years so why bump failing scores up to the promotable list?
