there will not be a feb class for sgts, with lack of time or credits the dept appears to be taking its time on this very short list, hopefully theres word for march. dont be surprised if they milk it slow. im not sure they will do as the rumors say and wait till june etc but with time and credits being an issue the heaviest movement may not be until july when several more become eligible. june makes sense for a class as college semesters end in may but i would be shocked if at least another class doesnt go in b4 that.
yea anonymous is off, its based on positions open and theyre behind unlike the lts who are what 70 bodies over?
the fiscal year is a laugher cause the city is in a surplus this year but a projected deficit in july so there goes that agrument. in fact hopefully perp settles this b4 the fiscal year cause the city will pay immediately, but that may be the real laugher on what and when we get it.
oh and were behind as a dept what 3000 bodies? i think money isnt an issue lol, its scrapin the bottom of the barrel to get sgts
Why do you think the rumors are no classes until June/July? is it just a coincidence that the fiscal year ends June 30??? There is already a list with 70 names on it. Whats the point of not promoting now, if as previous posts say, new Sgt's are budgeted for? 1 class now and the rest for June/July, the list would still be finished by Dec if they promoted continuously. There are only 20 or so on the list who will have their time on Jan 09. I hope Caps is right and there will be classes before June/July.
rumors are made because people who post on here are idiots for the most part, did anyone read in the sgt 08 forum about the guy who swears when 5 questions are thrown out it becomes based on 95 questions making it 1.05 pts per question lol
spots are open, its just hard to get everyone together based on education and or time, there will be movement before june 30. it wont take many classes to end this list so if they wait a lil it will be the same thing, after the summer theres not gonna be many names left, just a few straglers or 09 cops wating for time.
We will be promoted with in the next 6 months, relax. There are plenty of sgt's coming up towards retirement, large classes 1987,88 i know 3 sgts right now burning thier time, plus they are way under the# for sgt, lt are approx 50-60 over, plenty of lt's staying past 20yrs and not making capt those are the reason for no lts being made. I believe that lt list will get to approx 600-700 names and be the1st lt list to have guys "die" on it sorry guys.
lts are not bein promoted because they are over the limit, money? no, the city is in a surplus this year, the budget calls for x amount of sgts lts capt etc, sgts are short, lts are over, sgt classes keep goin in, lt classes have stopped. oh money again? what about the 3000 cops were short? no saving? lol, its not money
