Does anyone know when its going to be? With Thanksgiving that week will it be the day before the holiday or the day after? I know in the past they dropped the finest on the Saturday and had it the day before.
Believe me when I tell you, with this lady no body knows anything until the Monday of. Thats when the meeting occurs and numbers gets finalized. She can careless about the clearance or the shortage.
Any predictions on a possible exodus of personnel next year? And how this will play out for the current lists. I say vacancies increase but will they get filled? That is the question.
The exodus of experienced officers began during COVID and hasnt stopped since. The overall competency of many new jacks is lacking. The few who make their way now to DB (when we even manage to get new white shields) are often phone-calls. At this point, the wheels are already in motion and the die is cast. This isnt a hole that can be easily or quickly filled. I know it sounds pessimistic, but its simply the reality. I believe most of the experienced and competent cops are only sticking around long enough to hit their 20. Burnout is so widespread that people have simply stopped caring. What does all of this mean for the current lists? Honestly, the promo numbers should continue as they have been. Lowered job requirements and hiring standards have helped us plug the immediate staffing issues, but that approach carries its own long-term consequences that most of us can already foresee. I wish us all luck. Try to take care of each other. And if you are lucky enough to have a competent boss that looks out for you, show them some respect. There definitely seems to be a lack of that lately, too. Rant over- stay safe, and God bless.

Man, you couldnt have said it any better. Ive been saying this for years. Im in DB coming up on 10 years now and the experience is basically all gone. Its going to be a while until its even possible to fix. It will get even worse when they cut the transit overtime and I believe that is coming in 2026 for sure.
I know everything is subject to change but does anyone know if the December promotion would be 12/23 or the Friday after Christmas 12/26? Trying to figure out some travel issues.
