EXAMS

Does DCAS have to release the entire exams to the public after a set time?

Nope. You will never see the full exam you took. Your only option to see it was at the protest.

The last exam to be made public that I know of was the 1999 Sergeant Exam

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this?  I would think after a list expires it wouldnt be an issue to release.

Liability issues. We live in a litigious society. Why give people any reason to litigate an exam for a comma, period , etc.

Any reason why they would sit on a completed list for 3 weeks? Just wondering cause thats some pretty specific information. And we are obviously gonna need a DR.Papi blessing on this intel

Takes a while to verify who has a degree, adjust for metal points, jst and run. This has always been done, nothing new.

Oooo ok I gotcha, so DCAS sent over their completed list with throw outs and what not, now the job will be adding the metal and seniority points to create the final list. Makes sense

DCAS gives 1PP (Personnel) the list of people that passed with their raw scores. The department adds seniority points, medals, military etc, and adjusts the list accordingly then gives the adjusted list back to DCAS. If 1PP does in fact have the list, the list should be out in a couple of weeks.

Anyone with a connection to Personnel's office should verify.

They have to manually go person-to-person to add extra points, or is it automated somehow? Sounds like a logistical nightmare to do manually

In nypd terms, soon can mean from 1 week to 5 years.
