Throwouts/Protest Session

Based on the feedback I got, most questions were not protestable. They were carefully crafted. At most you will see 1-2 questions (throw out \ double answer). But remember, the TVB doesn't have to change the answer key. Many were surprised at their screens today ! 120 is the number I have and have to stick to unless I hear otherwise. Better luck next time to those that didn't pass. It was a hard exam !

A record number of people took the exam! How is that a decent pass rate?! By the time the list comes out next year there will be over 50 vacancies!

Wrong again drpapi..200plus passers and probably 6-8 throwouts. I successfully protested 5 questions myself!

You could thank Juan and the other POS captain for this garbage of an exam! These guys are the new Vucinaj.

I blame the job and dcas

Everyone involved is to blame. From the exam writers, to DCAS, to the NYPD. No one put in a good effort to create a decent/fair exam.

I feel bad for the Sgts about to take the Lieutenants exam. I'm hearing the LTs that will be selected will only have 6 weeks to create questions for that exam. The captain exam writers only had 8 weeks, so just imagine the debacle-to-be with the LT's exam.

Im praying the Lts will get a fair and valid exam. Considering most of the writers probably took the 2017 exam which was fair and validim hoping they remember what a fair and valid exam looks like. These capt exam writers screwed us hard! Many of our brothers and sisters wont make it because of this 2022 capt exam debacle.

Captain exams are historically brutal. They're not meant to be passed in high numbers. The board (TVB) also don't give us all the questions ,.....guess they like to keep these lists short.  The 2017 was the exam to take (super easy). Guess they're back to regular programming ,........

It still doesn't negate the fact that it was a poorly written exam. This exam was the first for tier 3 guys/gals so you had a lot of competition and motivated people.

If this is true then it is what it is ,.dont expect the TBV to throwout / doubles any questions. 200 names is a great list. Besides, based on what Im hearing (except Queens, people showed up there ,about 25,..) not many showed up and fought.

Yeah no one there at my session either. Thought there d be more. They took a lot of motivation and killed it with this exam. End of day I dont think the prep classes prepare u except for Rising Star cause they pull from anywhere.

Can we talk about these questions already? I protested 6 questions and I think we have a legit shot at 3-4 double/throw outs.

Not sure but wouldnt want to know. Just dont discuss the exam unless you want these clowns to pass you! You studied very hard for your results. Dont let it happen.

if you talk to enough people

the exam is 10000% different among the AM and PM test takers. Definitely diff for make up exam.

the questions were similiar but completely different answer choices and slight subtle differences.

everyone on here scamming a make up exam, Good Luck trying to figure out questions.

It was a very difficult exam. Many are in the 45-55 range, others in the 55-66. Based on what Im hearing, these questions were barely protest-able. It was there! This is why you needed to do those Rising Star questions and The Key questions and re-writes. They were on point. Mike and his same easy questions (written slightly different smh), bells and whistles gave many false hope. These exams are designed to wipe out most people taking it. Yes, everything is fair game, this is why The Key never said to just study this or that. They gave you content germane to the rank you were studying for and that is what you saw on exam day! Many told me that the questions that they protested were tight. They dont see many getting changed (at most 2!). We will soon find out.

There were about 4 protest-able questions that they might actually be double and throw outs. Not as air tight as you think

Dont want to get into the specifics ,..these guys/gals looked at the questions closely with the Patrol Guide right next to them. They were in shock brother. Very disappointed that these examiners made such a difficult exam.

I will tell you that I had nothing to do w this test so I have no clue the difficulty. But just bc a test is difficult doesnt make it unfair. As I stated alil over 200 passed before protests and makeups. Around 700ish sat for test so that around a 30 percent pass rate. This is just personal stuff when I say anyone who studied smartly and correctly that I know passed. Those who tried not putting time in and skating did not. Theres more to these tests then just reading a guide. Its time management, hardcore dedication, and some luck Ofcourse doesnt hurt.

I agree with you somewhat, but guess what ? A few of my buddies that didnt pass got anywhere from a 57 to a 67. They all went to class. Some of the guys in the top of the 2017 LT list got a 70-73. Ask around,.... it was a very difficult test,..no bullshit! A lot of people that studied their asses off failed. We just cannot write them off like that. A few of them that took Mikes course and went to The Keys CRAM (last minute) were surprised at the amount AG procedures they covered. They pretty much nailed it. All you saw was Captain questions ,......Ask around. It is what it is brother.

Lmaooooooo, bro, dont care about ANY of the schools ! Thats a fact! I actually like all of the schools but based on what people are saying, your boy Mike dropped the ball telling all the students NOT to study this or that..other schools tested you on EVERYTHING! Mike, he didn't do that ,.Hence why so many of his students flocked over to the other schools last minute,..but it was too late. Damage was done! Guess theyll pick another school when they announce a Captains exam in 2 years.

This exam wasnt even on the same planet as that disgusting Lt exam. At least on this test you knew the questions came from the patrol/admin guide.
