We always teach that anything and everything is testable. Leave no stone un-turned and read it all because you never know. Once you do that, you have a significant amount more confidence than those who picked & chose what procedures they thought may be on the exam and left the rest to chance.

How many 1s are typically on these tests ? Its obviously impossible to study everything but thats why many companies prioritize procedures (I.e youre more likely to see a question on 221-03 then you are on requesting a drug test for MOS

Covering it and overemphasizing it are two different things. Having been in the business for over 16 years you are at the mercy of the test-writers. For Tony and I it started with the 2006 Captain exam when we were told “don’t even bother studying the AG, they only ask 2 questions at most from there…” for that exam, they asked over 12 questions from the AG.
Having worked in OMAP I’ve also spoken with many test writers who had that “wait til they get a load of this question“ type attitude. Or the “I can’t wait to F them with this question…”.
Point is, it takes very little to read a seemingly innocuous procedure; that brief exposure will come in handy test-day. This strategy has worked (as told to us by dozens of top-of-the-list and would not have made the list [had they not taken RS] students).

I second what EZE said. A bunch of people just retaking the same exams over and over again memorizing the answers and thats why theyre scoring 100s on mike questions. Go do that on the key or rising star questions and I guarantee the euphoria your in will come to an end real quick. Everyone thinks the test is 4 or 5 shield procedures they can test anything from the book and if you never read it god help you. Take test from all 3 schools to effectively measure your knowledge.

I Agree!!!. I must say Rising star has taught me procedures in ways I've never thought to learn. I think we r in great shape with those questions.
I completed Yanosik course but i also supplemented my studying with rising star since April and did the key crams. I didnt care about the money, i wanted all available expertise to effectively pass this exam.
Rising star 100 questions test that makes you realize shit theres a lot of shit here but if you study hard and you hit submit and you see your score is 15-20 percent above the average then you know your in good place. You cant know everything in the guide its impossible but at least you become familiar with them.

I keep saying were the ones who keep ******* each other over and this is a clear example. Why on Gods earth would you put people through that after weve been studying for 8 months, time away from our families, away from trips, our summers shot etc. Let us not forget that it was a NYPD Capt who created the 2015 Lts exam with the soul purpose of screwing people over. Its not DCAS employees doing this, its us. Let this be a word to those who may create exams in the future. Remember where you came from and all the hours you put in the study.
