Also when it comes to LT do you need to be a sgt to sign up on decas or can I be a cop signing up for it and hopefully Im a sgt to take the test

You used to be able to do that but now you have to be a SGT to file for the LT exam but if you miss the filing date you can still sign up after the filing date closes they tell how to do it in BMOC

Anyone can register for the exam, as DCAS will gladly take your money. You need 1 day in rank to actually sit.

What Im saying is if you miss the filing date which is December and end up in BMOC after that date closes but before the Lt test which is probably gonna be given in February/March than while you are in BMOC inquiring about filing for the exam those people direct you how to actually go about filing for the exam.

We still have time, if something were to happen for Aug 26 then we should see finest messages on Aug 23/24. If a promo doesnt happen in August I can see a bigger September promo. This Sgt 2016 thread is almost dead with a few stragglers like us left behind. For the most part people dont come back on this thread once they get promoted which is probably why we have less activity/info on here.

Gotta agree! Think the little bit thats left on this list are the ones who are remaining. Hopefully those with a little bit of intell and have been promoted from this list gives us that are left a bit more hope. Lol but I agree definitely believe if august comes & goes, the next round will be big.

Hey guys my source is saying there is a class slated for end of month but as of right now the number is low around 40 SGT. I try and share info as I get it i know alot of people get made and disappear from the forum lol. Being a rookie SGT def is rough so trust me when I tell you your not being ignored its just not easy to have a life at the moment. If I hear anything more ill post.

Heeey thank you for that! i called the promotions unit and they stated anticipated class for the 26th and a small class was projected. Sooooo cry lets see!!!

^^^ is that a real question? You should be studying for it already. The exam is in March. Sign up is December. Youll be 50 away with 3 months to sign ups. Do yourself a favor, stop worrying. Get focused. Start studying. Its all going to work out.

No one can answer that question with absolute certainty. There are too many variables. Look at the info posted months ago about no promos until after September, yet here we are with several promos over the summer (granted smaller classes). However, in my personal opinion yes they are making the whole list. The job is still down a lot of Sgts and also Lieutenants, plus the new exam seems like it could hit a few road bumps before that list comes out. If I had to guess, they will pickup with larger promos the end of Sept. Hopefully someone with a source can confirm.

Hence this is why I told people to study & re-take the Sgt exam. It was good to get the info in you, get on another list just in case, & the material will still be there for the LT exam. Also, though, that Sgt exam is getting tossed. A hunch. If Im right, remember this post.

The Sgt exam isnt getting tossed. The city will agree to a settlement like they did with the 2015 Lt exam before they toss an exam completely.
