How do passovers work? If youre still not made when the list expires, do you die on the list or do they go back and get you eventually? Assuming youre not passed over for serious shit.

That with the remainder and Passover would be 358 left so probably 72 roughly a class

Passovers can consist of people waiting for Detective Shield, ppl who made grade & dont want the promotion, ppl who waiting to hit top pay detective, ppl who are jammed up, ppl who need to be CARBed, ppl who have been CARBed & need to go back again, ppl who may just retire & dont feel the promotion is worth it for benefits reasons, and ppl who just wont make it. We wont know how many of those passovers will make it, wont make it, or whatever, they all wont make it. Expect at least half the passovers to make it.

According to DCAS's online service exam dataset, the exam will expire on January 24, 2023. You can click on the link below to go to the DCAS data set, hit view dataset, search 6540, and then look at the extension date of 1/24/23.

Approx 60 passovers, list is pending some updates

Assuming 50% of passovers get promoted, that leaves 178 names

They could do 2 or even 3 more classes, because the list was established 1/24/2018 so with the one year extension it goes until 1/24/2023.

They better promote everyone. I work in a busy command and there is no joke three sergeants and one lieutenant assigned to patrol and one of the sergeants is restricted. ANNND we have gotten a new sergeant since the May class when we got one.

List is cleared... except for holdovers. Hopefully they can get cleared up before the list expires in a month!
