Any rumors on when this Lt teat is?. Sgt sucks

Is there a possibility to file for the Exam after filing date, given that one gets promoted to Sgt before the actual Lt exam date ?

Yes, in the past people have filed for the exam after the filing period though I dont have any details of what needs to be done.  Hopefully this continues to be the case.

I emailed dcas in regards to when the Lt exam will be administered. Was told there is no date yet. Where is 2023 coming from? That seems a bit steep

 I agree. Even though hes been right on other dates before. DCAS filing schedule posted as 4/6 to 4/26, a month after sgt filing period. And we now know that sgt test will be in June. We see that on paper as of right now the dates of filing to the month of the actual sgt exam is 3 months apart. If one follows the pattern then it tells us that Lt test might actually be 3 months after filing date.  That brings us to July actually. But we all know this is all guess work. Personally Im hoping end of 2022.

According to my source, the next Captains exam will be in the works before the next LTs exam. The Captains list only has 48 names remaining (while the captain rank has a total of 33 vacancies), so it would make sense to give that exam before the LTs exam. They could easily exhaust the current captains list this year.

The Lts list still has over 400 names on it, and I foresee that list going the distance (June 2023 expiration) so an exam at the beginning of 2023 makes the most sense.

I wonder if any of the first few promo classes from the June Sgt exam will be able to make it for the early 23 LT exam. This is assuming of course the exam is actually in June. I know it's not easy to score at the top of the list and make it in the first couple of promo classes... but damn that could be lucky for some of those folks if they make it. Could be motivation to study a bit harder...

 Yup Im hoping for that too man, would be great assuming the test is actually given in January. The people at the bottom are def in a nice spot either way I know a few people at the end of the list that are studying for the SGT test and if they announce the Lt test for January will def study for the Lt exam too honestly not a bad situation to be in.hope the list gets finished. Well see

 It all depends on when the list is established. Usually they take a few months to establish a list after an exam. The current sgt list didn't come out until December and the exam was in February.

 They probably closed to re-open it on a future date to allow more guys on the current Sgts list time to get promoted and be eligible for this exam. All you need is 1 day in the rank of Sgt to be eligible to sit and take the Lt exam.

Yeah,they anticipate doing a Captains test later this year,LT test early 2023

Obviously it changes you have to know po.sgt and lt duties

 Depends what works. A lot of steamers are shitting  their pants right now, not knowing if they will make it.

Since the other LT list expires May 2023. How many month it takes for DCAS to give makeup exams, get them graded, schedule dispute sessions, review dispute session and over turn questions, and then establish a list? Normally I hear anywhere from 4 to 6 months. Based off that, I expect a Lt's exam to be scheduled for November to January, with a filing period around August (based off this last SGT"s filing period).

@yougonow have you heard anything About the possible LT Exam date? 

What are we thinking about a possible exam date? This is my first time back here in years and I'm eyeing one last promo before retirement. I'd say october as a complete guesstimate

 Sounds about right ..curious to see the level of difficulty of the Sgt and captain exam.. also seems like maybe all the updates the pg and admin guide will be done for the LT exam
