Does anyone know what happened with the NCO differential mistake in the SBA and PBA contracts which caused the new Sergeants to make more than Sergeants with three years in rank?

As far as I know they stay at step 3 until they complete 4 years then go to top pay

I was affected by this. We all went to the 2nd to last step and got held there. Some Lt from the contract unit told us we would go to top pay after a year...that didn't happen. I thought they bumped up every Sergeant to that step eventually.

There was an article in the Chief Newspaper about this in 2017. Ed Mullins said for the aggrieved Sergeants to be patient.

Holding someone at the same pay/step for years should be illegal. A pay rate is associated with each step, and steps are based on years.

So if you come into a rank at step 4, and step 5 is top pay.... You should go to top pay!

How the Unions let this nonsense slip by is beyond me.

Yah...I was hopeful that would happen. I figured there was no way it would without creating an uproar from Sergeants promoted a few months before waiting the whole 4 years. I figure with the new eventual contract, it will get fixed.

The entire SBA executive board is useless. Not just Ed Mullins.

These guys are just looking to protect their cushy spots and age off the job with a max pension.

The SBA could care less about the day-to-day abuse that the typical frontline Sergeant suffers from mentally ill Lieutenants and Captains.

The Sergeants make the vast majority of the on-the-street decisions within this sewer called the NYPD. Yet they take a tsunami of abuse.

The Sergeants are abused because the SBA lets the Commanding Officers abuse their union members.

The police unions and the NYPD labor relations want the troops to practice BLUE COURAGE when dealing with workplace abuse and stress from superiors.

Remember that scam that the department was trying to force on us.

Lieutenant Brandi Sanchez was practicing Blue Courage throughout her career when she was in cush spots studying all day, while the rest of us get treated like farm animals.
