Projections for 2020

As we approach the halfway mark in the coming months, what are you hearing/thinking about where we will be by the end of 2020? If this pace keeps up I feel we could be touching 2000 by Jan 2021, which would be 3 years since the list went active. If the dept has any intention of finishing this list in 4 years then they would need to put in around 800/yr if we hit 1000 by Jan 2020.

1800 to 1900 max by end of list time. Unless a miracle happens with an exodus after Jan 1 new laws and CCRB power grab. Id say 1500 list # reached by Dec 2020.

Wow you guys must of dropped the math points. It took 2 years to get to 900-1000. You really think theyre going to put 1000 in 12 months.

If it took two years to get to 1000, then that would mean if the pace continues it will be around 2000 at the end. Keep in mind guys with list numbers past 2000 could make it due to resignations, terminations, jam ups, etc

it was on pace for 1800-1900 before this past July, but now that promotions have picked up, and depending if things stay at this pace, I can see them finishing the list or getting close once the 4 years are up.

I agree only if the vacancies stay consistent like they are right now. Before people start saying it can't/won't happen, how many of you thought they would be about to 1000 right now??

I think it will surpass 2000, I believe we are entering 2020 with 200+ vacancies. I heard not sure if its a rumor but they may do away with mentoring to speed up list. Any vacancy update?

well if they cut out mentoring, which I don't know if they will, but if they do and the pace stays the same then this list is definitely getting finished.

Mentoring is an absolute waste. It should be done AFTER promotion, not before. You cant do anything BEFORE promotion anyway except just listen to other Sgts say this job sucks behind the desk. This program is idiotic at best.

Any list number updates? DCAS still has "clearance" up to #1562 with no progress in over a month or so.
