While we wait; is anyone seeing a change in their prescription coverage from Optum RX? I used to have zero co-pays and now im paying a copay some as high as $30. And most recently they wouldn't cover my kids last medication at all. Does anyone know what the LBA uses?
I had an issue for my kids meds over the winter. It was only $10 so I told my wife to pay. I called the SBA office and they said they would reimburse us if i send in the bill, I forget. Try calling them to see what is going on.
This is a great topic. Me, personally, I have not seen any changes in the prescription plan. But please be advised that since the beginning of this year the SBA has been mailing out letters and the SBA Frontline magazine which outline a tremendous amount of recent changes to our medical benefits and the annuity fund. Around the beginning of the year the SBA mailed out an undated three-page letter that outlines changes to our medical prescription and dental plan. You must look at this letter since it discusses the recent changes to OptumRx including mail-order delivery info and prescription references on the SBA website. This month the SBA sent out a letter discussing the changes to our annuity fund. The SBA will be removing the MainStay S&P and MAP Equity Fund and transferring it to the T. Rowe Price and Hartford Core Fund. They will also transfer funds to the BlackRock fund. The impact of these changes to our medical, dental, and annuity fund will be tested and felt in the coming years (Especially if there is another recession as predicted). When it comes to medical care and financial instruments, the devil is in the details. The letters the SBA sends out are the broad strokes, the sub-atomic contract clauses that the SBA doesn't show us are what will hurt us. Please keep in mind that these guys on the SBA executive board have one primary goal: TO keep their no-show-cushy-office spots until they age off this insane job. They could care less about the Sergeant slowly losing his or her mental and physical health on the street and also taking emotional abuse by some overbearing, know-it-all, bullying, incompetent Commanding Officer. The SBA board thinks they own the union. They think they can pass it down to their friends and family like a cheap family heirloom. They are wrong.
