Are these the dates for promotion of all ranks? Or just certain ranks? Thanks...
Sorry, I guess I should've clarified. This is the tentative list of dates for promotions in general...which ranks are getting made on which dates is not known at the time the list of dates is generated (usually September).

Thanks asap! Do you think the job will squeeze in another promotion in early jan so two promotions in jan?
Hopefully there is a lot of executive movement...people start retiring...and the Lt list starts really moving. Now thats on the top of my christmas list!

I have no idea to be honest. Though if it isn't one of the dates above, I'd bet no.

Common sense, although not so common unfortunately, indicates for the end of February. That will make it 3 months since the last Lt promotions that were the week of Thanksgiving. If 63ASAP can update the vacancy numbers for the beginning of February that might further indicate a class. Hopefully going forward it isnt going to be 1 Lt promotions class a quarter.
Actually common sense would mean we are looking at March since there would have to be a Lt Mentoring class going in before promotion. Since there is no Lt mentoring for February we are realistically looking at March as the earliest for the next Lt class.

How do you know there isnt a mentoring for February? Lt mentoring is only 3 weeks, theres still plenty of time for people to be notified to go for mentoring leading up to the end of February promotions.
Because February is next week and no one has said anything for notifications for Febuaray mentoring. And since the mentoring we have known about classes well in advance. Just saying the likelyhood of a February promotion is slim. Trust me I hope I am wrong
According to Sgts bmoc finest they r assigned to bmoc until March 10th...how will this work with tentative Feb 25th promotion date? Is it week of training at cmd and cit following bmoc? hoping for Lts class being promoted with sgts

I noticed that Blatt was recently mention in the above posts. As we all know he was demoted. The question is: what is his next move? Will he sue to regain his rank of LT, and, by extension, the rank of Captain. Blatt sued DCAS in one of the most significant Civil Service lawsuits in recent history. Was he punished for winning the lawsuit or his behavior in the workplace? Either way, his punishment was swift, certain and severe. It was breathtaking.

Blatt has been transferred to the 46 Precinct. He made an appearance in the 2018 Hulu NYPD documentary entitled "Crime + Punishment." In the movie, he is filmed scratching a cop and instructing the cop to conform to the Patrol Guide requirements for proper police uniform appearance.
This LT List is DOA. I yearn for the days of yore when they would promote a list of 800 SGTS or 800 LTs in three years. The LTs today are all doing between 20 and 35 years because they know that when they retire it is security guard " Shopping Mall Cop" time.
It's always been that way. If you fail to prepare for your future then it will be square-badge security for you with 2 weeks vacay. This is nothing new.

They promoted approximately 1300 Sgts the last 3 years. Aprox 900 in 2016 and 2017 from the 2013 list and slightly over 400 from the new list last year. Also from the very beginning werent people saying the LTs list would hit 750-800? its already at 200 with 3 1/2 years to go. the Pace has no where to go but down

With things drying up and the rate of promotions/vacancies drying up across all three ranks...who is going to be the first one to say "I told you so?!" lol...my money is on DRpapi! Here are my predictions: Capt list cut at 200, Lt list cut at 1000, and Sgt list cut at 1900.

Absolutely right! now is the time to go back to school..get a masters, JD, PhD, or any other advanced education while you wait for the next Capt, Lt, or Sgt. I think it will be another 2 years before one is even announced. So make the best of it brothers and sisters!
According to Lt NG, next Lt bmoc promotion is May 3rd which is not on tentative peomotions date at all, he added mentoring from 4/15-5/2... aprox 35...... with that said we will be at 36 on the 5th of March so hopefully class at the end of march... can someone update tentative promotion dates!!!! 4/29 is a monday and i doubt there will be promotions on monday

Wowzers. 6 months without Lt promotions is not a good sign of things to come.
Remember, there only 16xx active Lt's otj...the Capt's list is only 266...taking that into consideration as far as vacancies. Unless there's an exodus, we are looking at small classes with a lot of breaks in between.
