A lot of 16,17,18,19 promotion dates. Job is getting younger. Surprised that I saw a couple of 09s. Itll be interesting to see how the plays out. Thanks for adding the eligibility dates.

not promotion dates..... those are dates that they are eligible to be promoted.... meaning 2 years in rank

"Wages include base salary, overtime, night differential, holiday pay, portal to portal and worked vacation. If the wages earned during any year included in the period exceeds the average of the prior two years by more than 10%, the amount in excess of 10% shall be excluded."
I keep hearing that same false rumor....."Tier 3 OT is NOT pensionable."
Does anyone know if there's ever been a Capt's list that was cut?? I can't personally remember such a thing happening...anyone with input feel free to enlighten us all....
They never have. They have promoted over 290 in a 4 year span once previously. They have also done over 260 once before In a four year span. Everyone should be good. They could potentially over promote the last 20 or 30 guys in case the list is about to expire. Dont think they let 30 guys die On the list.
Even so, 266 people on the list means they need to promote an average of 67 people per year over a 4-year span. So far, they are slightly above that average since they have reached that mark within the first 9-months.

Definitely Bigfoot, can't see the job cutting a Capt's list when it has traditionally difficult to fill that rank...but as we all know, nothing is set in stone

And where actually is the job going to put 30 or so captains they would have to over promote? Traditionally its 47 Capt promotions a year. Just because your dealing with small number of people its still a year worth of promotions. Listen i hope the job does over promote because i have a lot of friends on the back end of that list and many of them were fighting along with us and the 9 heroes in the trenches. But reality is also reality. Its still wayy too early to tell...we should get a clearer picture by 2020.

They could do what they did with the 2013 Sgts exam. Over promote, then hold the next list for 6 months or so. The 13 Sgts list was for all intensive purposes done in the summer of 17. The next list didnt get activated until January of 18

They can stick 2 or 3 in their respective boroughs for 2 or 3 months... this isn't unheard of. I don't think this will even come to this, but who knows. I think they got to 65 but not 100 percent.
Thanks guys I was always told clock starts date of 1st promotion. Not that it's a big deal on this cause I believe they promoted right away but sometimes they dont and a list is out for a while b4 the first promos.
Im under 200 so I'm not worried but I believe they will make the whole list regardless.
Agreed, 9 is a joke; it's like why even bother? I wish someone would post the vacancies so we can have an idea....
its simple.... no captains really retired... its all LTs and below that left the job. the only reason i see why capts got made is from DI promos
This. Capts and above were affected the least this year with vacancies. Many ran for the door after all the summer ot. No cash ot didnt force them out.
