This is false. There is no such clause in the budget proposal.

Increasing payroll

The mayor cited the hiring of pre-k teachers to expand programs for 4-year-olds.

He also pointed to the addition of 2,000 police officers which he had initially resisted despite a push from City Council for the citys declining crime rate.

Guees you cant watch or read the news

One of the reasons no one likes to post viable information on here is due to responses like this. You took my reply as a slight when it was simply for the sake of clarification so no one gets their hopes up.

The addition is from several years ago. Yesterday's press release from NYC.gov: http://www1.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/news/077-18/fact-sheet-mayor-de-blasio-releases-preliminary-budget-fiscal-year-2019#/0

"This budget makes targeted investments to make good on the Mayors promise to bring fairness to all New Yorkers. Mayor de Blasios prior budgets have invested in priorities that can be felt across the five boroughs, such as building and preserving more affordable housing units than any other administration; providing free high-quality, full-day Pre-K for All; and moving nearly 2,000 additional NYPD officers onto the street helping secure New York Citys record-low crime rate."

Article from June 2015 citing the addition: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/nypd-hire-800-recruits-move-415-cops-desk-duty-article-1.2271820

"The 2,000 cops brought in over the next seven months will be on the street by this time next year. Currently, the department brings in two classes per year."

It seems you're the one who "can't read or watch the news." Not properly, at least. Good luck to you.

To try and discredit and slander someone who still chooses to provide information to this forum just proves how ignorant you truly are.... so cops dont retire? Many supervisors stay beyond 20, therefore theres probably 8 cops retiring to every sergeanT.

Nice try!

edit: also was the uniformed head count increased by 2,000 or authorized to hire 2,000 recruits as people retire to create the room.

The only thing i saw in the budget about the NYPD was the 12 million dollars for the body cameras for cops on patrol. I don't know what that could possibly mean for our test tho..
