AFTER THIS YEAR 2018 WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT IF THIS DEPARTMENT WILL GO THROUGH THE WHOLE LIST. BUT ITS TO EARLY TO SAY IF THE LIST WILL EXPIRE. I HEAR A LOT OF PEOPLE TAKING ABOUT THE LIST WILL EXPIRE AT LIST NUMBER 2000 NO ONE REALY KNOWS.
Mr.parcells, will this class of 50 for March be all from the new list or a few thrown in from the old?
Once you promote the first person off the new list, the old liat is no longer in effect. All further promotions will be from the 2017 Sgt.'s list after January.
And remember: You are what your record says you are
Reporter: Hows Terry Glenn doing with his injury?
Me: Shes doing fine.

"Tentative" is the key word ladies and gentlemen. The march class will only happen if there is a Lt class of about 50 or so. After this jan class of 75 there will be no more sgt vacancies. I highly doubt 50 sgt will retire between now and march..i would say more like 10.
thats not true at all. we just saw the job promote a few hundred sergeants in a few months last year just so they could take the LT exam.
True but that was a one shot deal. Listen Im not hoping the list will be cut but just telling guys to be realistic. Could the job over promote people to sgt so they wont die on the list sure but that has never been the case. Ask any old timer and they will tell you otherwise. A list has only been cut one time in my career during the 06 Lt exam. But Ive heard it has been cut many times before that when they would only promote the top 2,000. I think that would span the entire life of the list approx 4 years. And that was when guys would leave at exactly 20. Now most guys are staying on until 25 or longer. I hope you make it jay...but bro you have to be realistic
