LT & Sgt on Probation [Cannot] Take 2017 LT & Capt Exam [?]

So Lieutenants AND Sergeants who are currently on Probation

BOTH have this Phrase in the 2017 Notice of Examination

and the Captains Exam (Probationary LT's) received a Notice in the mail that says they are NOT eligble for the next Captains exam.

HAS ANYONE RECEIVED a Notice explaining to them they are NOT eligible for the 2017 LT Exam because they do not hold a "Permanent" Rank of Sergeant Yet ?

Wtf is going on here ?

This doesn't apply to you. All sergeants, lieutenants, and captains hold permanent title that day of promotion. In the past, they would promote people without a list. I believe they did this in May 2000. They were so short sergeants they promoted provisional sergeants (based on where they think they would be on the list). Once the list came out they became permanent

Is there an Suggested Response to send to DCAS so we don't get Screwed on Principle Because DCAS wants something Very Specific to be Mentioned on this Appeal process ? Captains have some time But the Lieutenant's Exam is in 2 Weeks !

No time for Appeal Errors

Must be an oversight on their part. I'd go down to DCAS and sort this mess out first thing in the AM

Fax a copy of your ID with your address and Exam #. They said they are reviewing it and will reach a dicision soon. This is the # of the appeals unit to confirm they received your fax. (212) 386-1605
