the job is pushing everyone in the 2013 list through before the Lts exam in August, so it's looking like they will hire off our list (whenever it comes out) a lot faster than anyone thought.

Let's hope so. But there might be a few down months before that happens. however the people on the 2013 list got the shafted with that all out mentoring program. Let's hope that doesn't happen to people on this list.
I don't think it's a shaft. Look at it as an opportunity to learn your new rank to avoid many pitfalls. If that isn't good enough for you, then look at it as extended vacation time. Either way it benefits the COP more than it does the department. You'd be surprised how many people welcome this idea. Now is the time to ask questions so that u don't look like THAT guy when you finally get the chevrons. Good luck to all.

They still gotta have the make up exam for LOD people, the protest session, add medals/jst, then generate the list. No way. I'm sure they will finish the current list then have a number of down months.
I know you guys are anxious but the dept is promoting way more sgts then they actually need with this surge for the lts test. It will be a while til your list is compiled... id take a guess that your first class will be Nov/Dec... for lucky ones maybe Oct.
The will not promote from this list until sometime in the first quarter of next year. The job will be over by about 250 sergeants after they finish promoting in the next 2 months.

This is reasonable and would be ideal. I think first quarter of '18.
If job cuts ot to 30 for the rest of year or permanently we may see a mass exodus.
