Got to give credit where credit is due. JDMEV09. You were right all along buddy! Thanks for the heads up you gave us! Glad I took you at your word! Also I told all of you jerks that the list was over 2600!!! We made it guys! The wait is over!
im one of those jerks/@ssholes that said march. glad i was wrong. not kissing anyones ass or kneeling down lol. congrats to everyone. congrats, congrats, congrats. the long wait is finally over.
I've never bought into the hype of a list being cut before.. However, after seeing the size of this list I think it's entirely plausible for anyone after about list #2,000 being cut

Its the reality of it buddy. It is what it is. On avg the job promotes 400 to 450 po to sgt a year. Even if you go with the high estimate the max would be roughly 1800 po to sgt in four years. The list expires in four years ladies and gentlemen. The clock starts now. Good luck to all!

Actually the clock starts whenever they begin promoting off the list so lets hope it begins next month. The average is around 450 a year but that may go up due to the need for Sgt for new programs like the NCO program. Also don't forget it seems like a lot of cops are getting held up for different reasons more now than then so expect that too. I do predict the list to go past the 2000 number. Only time will tell
This post is made for future Sgts exam takers, if they need a reference to how long DCAS takes to churn out a list:
For the Feb 7 , 2009 Sgts test, the 781 person list came out March 19, 2010 (From test day to release of list: Over a year, or approx 405 days). For the Oct 15, 2011 Sgts test, the 1,663 person list came out April 4, 2012 (From test day to release of list: A little under 6 months, or approx 172 days). For the Oct 19, 2013 Sgts test, the 932 person list came out June 18, 2014 (From test day to release of list: About 8 months, or approx 242 days).
For our Feb 22, 2017 Sgts test, the 2,682 person list came out December 29, 2017 (From test day to release of list: A little over 10 months, or approx 310 days).

Anybody know what DCAS wants in terms of proof of service for those military points? I know someone that is currently on military leave, but is state side active duty, they passed the exam and dcas didnt contact them so that they can get their extra military points. It would bump them up almost 400 names.
He may want to see though where on the list he is. If hes in the first 1000 Id say hold the points for an LT exam where it may make the difference in getting promoted or not
Hes 19**, so he wants to make sure that he gets made since the list is so big and he might get cut...with the vets points he would drop to 15**. Thanks 3rdtimethecharm And Paul Benedict!
