PBA Contract

Stop studying now guys...  Go be an NCO instead!

Starting pay for a rookie Sgt busting his ass getting abused on patrol every day is $86,354 (no contract reopener)

PO Salary with NCO pay scamming it up is now $87,210!!!

What a slap in the face!!!  At least you guys will get "the boss" boots in bmoc and that cool little SBA wallet...

What does restore the Tier 2 -Level presumptions for Tier 3 members mean?

It means you can become eligible 3/4s if you opt in and pay an additional 1% into your pension. Right now tier 3 members pay 3% into their pension, so if you want to be eligible for 3/4s add the 1%. It doesn't take much for us to get hurt on this job, so those of you in tier 3 should definitely do this.

Presumption is for the heart bill. If you have a heart attack/cardiac disease the presumption is it was caused by the job, unless proven otherwise, and qualifies for LOD. There are other health issues with similar presumption unsure exactly which though.

does presumptions also include ITHP and 50/50?'

Also how long after the contract is ratified does it take for the retro to kick in?

Presumptions have nothing to do with restoration of 3/4's. The agreement just stipulates that the city and PBA would jointly support legislation to restore 3/4's. It doesn't appear that ITHP or extra 50% were restored.

City has up to 90 days after contract is ratified to pay any and all retro. Usually they are pretty good about it being sooner. Look at contract being ratified mid march (before the NCO raise) so I'd say around end April/beginning may
