Since this list will be small is it worth using Veteran points for this test if you plan to take the Captains test? If I'm not mistaken you can only use the points once?

I'm actually being serious. Not really sure how it works. Nor do I even know how many points they get.

Something seriously went wrong with the rank of lieutenant if you see me taking the captains exam.  Maybe someone can foil request the new list size....

Looks like the 100 Haters are up to their old tricks again lol...worried that some one with veteran points will leapfrog you.

Of course it makes sense to use your veteran points even on this small sized list. Historically, the Capt exam has been offered every 1 to 2 years so you will get numerous cracks at attaining that rank. Get promoted to Lt as fast as you can!

How long do you all estimate a list of 389 would take to get through?

2 years. They will need a test in 2017 to get a new list out

I'd say closer to almost 3 years with a test early 2018.

There's a lot of vacancies but they were down 60+ LTs even with the old list still active. I think they average around 125 LT promotions a year... And I don't see them playing catch up as much as everyone thinks they will. Maybe 100 people from now till January, then another 2 years to get through the other 286. Just a guess.

2 years from when the first group of Sergeants go in, especially since the vacancies are close to 150 right now.

They promote closer to 200 LT's per year, so I would GUESS an exam in Mid to late 2017

They  usually promote about 175 a year.... Be surprised if the top 180 aren't made by Christmas... January the latest

Fact..... The job has promotion dates set up for August 1st and the 29th...... I'm predicting with promotions to the rank of LT on both of these dates ...... Approx 60 on both dates ..... Nothing set on the stone yet though.
