The significance of the answer key

The significance of the answer key is being missed by pretty much everyone. It's not that the answer key gave make-up date test takers an advantage... We all know the questions and choices are mixed up....

The significance is that a photo of the key itself was smuggled out and posted online at all. If a photo of the actual key can get out from a protest session where test booklets are handed out, and cell phones and removing test materials is already prohibited, it shows that the test questions themselves could've easily been smuggled out as well.

They obviously were. Don't see how that helps the people who already took the test though.

I'm one of the ones who took it on the day of the exam and didn't make it. If the exam gets thrown out, that doesn't help me.... I'm really not hoping that the exam gets thrown out, rather that there is reform in the promotion testing procedure, with regards to cheating and especially with regards to the exam itself.

The goal shouldn't be to get the exam thrown out but I think that may be what has to happen to bring about reform, IF it has a chance of happening.

If thr exam gets tossed, I feel terribly for the 160+ that took it the day of the exam and didn't cheat, and also the ones that took it on makeup day and didn't cheat and passed.

But to the rest that cheated, f you, you should be ashamed of yourselves... And the same to Capt Vajayjay and everyone that contributed to creating this embarrassment of an exam.

Secret answer keys are a VERY new thing to DCAS. These answer prelim answer keys were published in The Chief for generations. So what's the big deal the answer key was made public?

The problem isnt that the answer key was made public, you are missing the point, the point is exactly what bngeek explained.  IF someone was able to take a picture of the pre answer key from the protest session and post it on a public forum, that means it is very possible exam questions were also stolen and taken pictured of, this is the issue.

What does that matter? Don't they change the order of the answers as well?

it could matter to an extent . I think all they do is move inbasket position from the start to the end so if someone could figure that out, its pretty simple. I could totally be wrong with this just an assumption.

Can we all just take a second and realize that it takes one second to take a picture of the answer key. Do you know how long it would take to take pictures of the whole test booklet? There is no way anyone could get away with that.

Not every camera is a gigantic cell phone. Pen camera, eyeglass cameras, etc.multiple people...

The protest session in 6 hrs long....

They should amend the lawsuit to include that DCAS failed to remove eyeglasses from all test takers. I didn't observe anyone with a cell phone in their hand but the guy to my left had glasses on. Come on. This is getting to the point of absurdity.

I say that's nonsense. This lawsuit shows the same attitude of the kid who does not get picked for the team and takes his ball and goes home. If I can't be on the list nobody can whaaaa

From now on everyone who goes to the protest session should have to strip naked, and submit to a cavity search before entering the room.

I asked in another thread but I'll ask here too.

What should they have done to effect change for the next exam? We all know these guys failed and no matter the outcome, they're not getting made off this list.... So that's not their goal.

Everyone wants to ascribe some evil motive to them... That they're just being spiteful, "take the ball and go home" etc. Etc.

Maybe they just want to make sure the next go around isn't completely a bs test.

Ok fine. They're so courageous. It was courageous how they held off until the list was established without their names to suggest everyone could have cheated. Courageous how they are leading the charge to bring about change for all future civil service exam takers. Courageous how they are willing to gamble wth the careers of 164/204 people, not including their own of course.

I said this in the other thread...

"If any of these 9 actually observed cheating on test day and said something and the exam was thrown out, you'd brand them rats. Now that they say something you brand them liars.

If I saw people talking in the bathrooms, I wouldn't have said anything either. And any of you who try to claim that if you saw cheating on test day you would have said something... when you literally have everything to lose by opening your mouth, you are a liar."

And if you try to say that if you had passed (maybe you did, I don't know you) you would still jeopardize your own promotion to pursue a lawsuit like this, you're a liar too.

I'm not saying they're moral pillars of our society or anything like that but all this sh1t talking about our own is embarrassing.

BC of this lawsuit, will the 2015 LT Test be released for public review? I would love for our prospective schools to get a crack at it to see if the other 2300 of us who did not make the list are as stupid as the test made us seem. Food for thought.

If our test gets thrown out, you can bet your ass that for the next exam, I'm going into the protest and photographing the whole test.  Then I'll go to a public computer and post the whole fuking thing online.  I have $69.99 to throw at it.

This could happen on any exam, this one is no different.  And the retest would be no different also.

People should read the filing first.

Then understand that there plaintiffs can only testify as to what they themselves experienced or observed. Most likely none of them took it on makeup day, so they can only attest to the conditions and experiences they had on the first test date
This was really the only way they could push the lawsuit through.

We all know there was cheating with the makeup exam. The top 15 I would bet my pension on it.

There was no cheating on the original test date.
