I have never seen or heard so much Military bashing. I believe that the only time military members were hated so much was in the 60's. Because of those who volunteer to join the military, those that don't want to serve don't have to serve. Many sacrifices have been made by these weekend warriors.
Are there a few bad apples that take advantage of their military status ? Of course! Are there a few members of this department that try to take advantage of their police status and in the process give the department a black eye? That too is true. One thing we all hate is to be grouped, as if we are all one, when in reality we are all in individuals working together towards a common goal.

In regards to taking the exam, the only members I am ashamed of are those members who "RESCHEDULE" their drill weekend to the date of the exam. Everyone else is in one is in one way or another serving their country, whether in-country or overseas. There are a lot of required assignments in-counry that are essential to military operational status.
I'm not mad at any of them. I'm pissed off I might get bumped out of the first class because of them, but that isn't their fault. The system allows it, it's sanctioned cheating. That's like I'm the CO and I'm offering everyone in your command with blonde hair $500. You don't have blonde hair so you don't get it, but of course all the blonde haired officers take the cash.
Are you mad at your fellow officers for being blonde and taking the money, or are you mad at your dick CO for excluding you? The system is broke, that's what needs to be fixed, you know military guys aren't going to miss out on the scam because it's "dishonorable" when it's completely sanctioned. Not their fault, it's the city's fault.
