I think it's the Vet letters... or lack of them that is making this information seem legit. I hope you are right but I must admit, I think the 208 or 218 is what it's going to be.

I know exactly what you refer to. devildog was being helpful and posted about getting his vet letter, but he passed outright and was not in the same situation as others with failing scores that are awaiting vet letters.

There could very well be some process going on as we speak in changing scores of all tests due to throwouTs.

Remember we were so sure the list was coming out pre holidays. I mean it was absolute fact, confirmed, signed sealed and delivered waiting on some chief's desk!

3 months later.

This rumor is no different.

I studied for over a year.....I started 45 mins a day when I was working and took off my rdos. This got my kind ready for the war of a 8 month study period and got me into the 80s for this test. I highly suggest you think about starting bc you never know what kind of test they will throw at you like we saw w this one. Good luck

It's highly unlikely I'll study at this point. It isn't worth it financially at this juncture and that's what it was all about to begin with. I absolutely have no ambition to go further than Lt either. Not to mention, studying absolutely sucks! My only motivation to study is revenge. I must admit that's a strong motivator for me write now. if I do it again I am reading books on improving memory and getting a prescription for adderall. I'm well into middle age and the brain doesn't work as well as it did when I studied for Sgt over 10 yrs ago. Keep that in mind if you there are large gaps in the tests you study for. I never compensated for it. I just kept plowing forward. That factor more than any other cost me a passing grade on this debacle.

I was told as a rookie that everyone has a day in their career when they are no longer police officers and just become another person collecting a check: some guys become disgruntled and dig themselves into a psychological hole they can't get out of; some respond to one-too-many tragedies; some guys get jammed up for BS; oftentimes it's a combination of them. For me, it was this Exam. It has nothing to do with not getting the rank. They robbed me of my personal life and my wife and kids for 8 months only shove that pile of garbage in front of me?! It's disgusting! If I half-assed it that's one thing but I studied my ass off. I'm in the 90+ percentile of all testers. That's impressive when you consider almost half the people above me cheated. This test was an abortion and the people responsible should be put before a firing squad.

I congratulate the original testers who passed this thing. You earned it. It was a monster. I wouldn't count on promotions at the end of the month or any time soon. if I were you I'd be very concerned about an injunction preventing the job from promoting off this test anytime soon.

Funny you mention that. I was just wondering whether the job actually wanted a difficult test. They didn't know how ridiculous it would be, but maybe there were a lot of complaints to the reengineering teams of idiots getting promoted. I know a lot from the 07-08-09 sgts tests. And even the 2011 LT test. As mentioned, people in the 50s passed when throwouts were taken into account.

Doa, well written! If the test was essay format u would have been the top 5%
In terms of was this exam meant to be this challenging or was it an accident.
When you have 6-8 months to write an exam then there was a sample of Lts taking this test who didn't do too well on it, what do u think?
It was said that Lt tests are too far in between compared to sgts and capts and in order to administer them more frequent less people have to be on the list thus producing more challenging exam without many changes or maybe none in this case.
Don't sleep on the next Lt exam either, it will not be ground ball

Sig i feel your pain, im in the same boat. I have been thinking about that since the info came out. I stopped the first time to study and cost me a year and a half of putting it off. I dont know if im willing to put it off for another year minimum. Especially when im in semester now.

I like to think I was one of those that always took pride in my work. After this exam and hearing what the results may be, I now fit into that category of one of those who is just in it for a check. Before this exam I was a police officer, now I am just a city employee.

Morale is down. this job is not my life, therefore i will not let this exam effect how I perform in other areas of my life. However this exam does and will have an effect on how I perform and how I view this job moving forward.

10 years down, 10 more to go.

If I remember correctly the 2011 Sgt list came down between 1600 and 1800 and took a hour to print all the names on the list. This one you could probably fit on a single page.

That is what it says on the bottom of the home page. If it follows the same pattern, it is safe to assume list will be released during early 4 x 12's.
