I heard several people next on list were notified to report to 1pp promotional unit and are going to be promoted upfront and assigned to 1pp until next bmoc. What does that mean????? Is this normal practice?
probably people that were skipped over already and finally got approved by CARB. Because of civil service law they have to be promoted ASAP. So it is possible that a few people might be promoted go Sgt on Friday.
Not really normal practice but people that have been held up and later cleared (EEO, IAB, CARB) of wrongdoing are supposed to be promoted immediately if their number has already been called. Normally the job would just wait until the next BMOC and promote these people at the start of BMOC, however in THIS particular situation, doing that would deny these individuals the opportunity to test for Lieutenant on April 18. The job is likely taking this extra step in order to cover its ass and avoid any lawsuits.
