Wow almost a hundred less people signed up for this exam. This is supposed to be the "fair" one too.

They basically allow late filers, so it may increase a little.......especially with lt. BMOC classes

Fair but with a many oddball obscure questions that have little relevance (e.g. 212-70 Civilian Commendation)

Wow, only 380 filers.  That's insane.

The PG 212-70 question was on the 2013 test NOT the 2012 test.

The 2013 exam was loaded with cheapshots from Operations Orders, 49 distribution questions, vague, obscure, irrelevant questions. I can say most questions were short, but too vague to properly answer some of them based on the choices given.

Maybe enough people have had enough of wasting their time, memorize the material only to have exam writers pull operations orders out of their arses or make vague questions that you opinions have to match the exam writers.

Lets face it, almost everyone who passed the 2013 exam had to be surprised when they passed. It was a complete crapshoot...

So with only 380 signing up, will they finally improve the rank? Or just muck up the Lieutenant rank further?

I believe they are trying to improve the rank by providing X.O.'s with vehicles. We shall see if the PC approves. This will be a start.

I also heard 200 hour cap on cash ot.  Highly unlikely but you never know.

To get paid for ot in cash it must be negotiated during contract, that's probably off the table. Getting a take home car is a good start. Dept needs to work on improving cap schedule.

I hear they'll be Cat 2 vehicles. Better than nothing I guess.

Yeah, that's more trouble than it is worth for most people.

I heard that 98 Category II vehicles have just been allocated for XOs.  They can't be taken home if you live outside the city, but at least they can be secured at a Dept facility near the city line (105/QSTF/50, etc) for those who live in NS-WORP.  I'll take paying half the gas, half the wear and tear and none of the tolls, it's better than nothing.

Category two vehicles have to be left at a Dept facility at EOT.  But the way you wrote it sounds like if you live in the city you can take the car home.  Is that true or am I just reading into your statement too much?

no, lol, you're correct, my error, they have to be left at a dept facility. Wishful thinking I suppose.

Just found out today that it is not going to be category 2 vehicles but category 3 vehicles.  The thinking behind it is that an XO rarely has a vehicle assigned to himself (or herself) and if the XO has to get somewhere and takes (for example) an SOL car, that causes friction with the CO because he wants the car out getting activity and not at a meeting at 1PP.   If the XO has his own car that will not be a problem.   I know everyone says this but I got this from a pretty reliable source (not the same source that told me the 2013 Capt test was a "groundball" "the test to take". etc)

All XOs have cars assigned to them but the COs reassigns them to the speciality units that will get them promoted

XO DON'T have cars assigned to them thats a fact. The XO usually debos an umarked from anti-crime for their personal use. XO are by the rules suppose to use a marked vehicle. lol sure

Captain's schedule needs to be "re-engineered" more than anything.
