LT Vacancies...

I know this might be a bit of a stretch, BUT, anyone out there who is in the know could advise of the anticipated vacancies for LT's in the upcomming months, either by patrol boro's or even pct's. I know this might be alittle much but a brother can dream...hmm

I agree.   BUT, i know several people from that class who now say that 25 years is the new 20.   The job market is not that appealling yet and they have kids still in elementary school.   UNLESS, the PBA accepts the city propsal to buy back the 4 years.  Guys will stay on 21 years and beyond to  maximize their pension numbers.   Also, guys on terminal or newly retired will pull their papers or come back to the job.  It will affect all unions.   Better to go to PERB.

Come on people, has anyone other than some loser on the Rant actually confirmed that the city is proposing this?

It was the same guy who posted false info/flyer regarding the next LT exam on the rant (and probably on here too). So many idiots believing it...I couldn't even look at my FB feed anymore.

It's absolutely 100% has not been proposed by the city. It was thrown around in negotiations with the DOE. The PBA and other unions have stated that they'd look into the possibility, but it's very unlikely. And frankly, it's horrible for anyone with under 15 years. This would guarantee eventual bankruptcy of the pension system and would f**k everyone. Horrible idea.
