It doesn't work like that dude accept it. The lt of the unit that runs bmoc said there wont be a dec class thats as much confirmation as you need.

Its better to be a cynic than a over optimistic, naive fool.

Simply put they had like 4 classes in a row. The gravy train eventually had to end.

I am in the low 1300's and I only hope to scratch the next LT test... If I find i am on that range... I will throw my 70 hours + of paid detail a month out the window and dedicate my existence to that test!!!!!!

Lol I hear ya! SGT's do very well too doing paid detail. I think I'll prob continue doing it after my number comes up. 1070-1080! Getting close but just not quite there yet. Trying to enjoy my time while I'm still a cop. I'll be honest, I love being a cop.. Guess it's time to move on, make a lil bit more money and see what else it out there.
tick tock ladies n gents... Our time is coming ...!

I'm in the same boat with you. Do a lot of paid details. Just hoping to make that LT test. I plan to start studying for it beginning new year.

I believe sgts are only allowed like 30 hours a month. Plus they can't schedule themselves, they have to call pdu.

this sucks A$$ I CANT BELIEVE THIS! I am really going to have to freeze to death in December and possibly January. I guess i was still hoping like a fool that maybe just MAYBE there would be a class in Dec since Brat has not confirmed nor denied it.I am finally giving up now :( I shall FREEZE this one last winter I guess. Booooooooooooo

Dude really??? Holy ****. Your biggest problem is freeZing? Did you ever even get of foot post?? You think you won't freeze as a sgt?!?Did you take this exam so you won't freeze?!?. Just wait until you are responsible for a squad of individuals...for there safety and for there activity. You will be responsible to motivate people. And teach them how to perform there duty. At the same time upper management will shovel **** on you no matter what you do. That should keep you warm.

If your worried about freezing then put on some under armor and a liner in your jacket.... And start preparing yourself to be a leader. Which is harder then being a cop. If you find that being a leader is easy, then that means your doing it wrong.. Just my two cents.

oh boy here we go. wow. lol. i hate the cold. of course that isn't the reason why i took the test. of course that is not my biggest problem. I do not think being a leader is easy. I was just bitching out loud amongst my fellow cops (at the moment) but you jumping at me serves me right. lol. seriously lessoned learned; disregard my bitchin. I got my warm **** ready, and FYI all humans get cold, even good cops. Be Safe All. see you soon God willing.

The cops will be asleep on the bench, while the Sgt is looking through the peep hole at he turnstile. And the online will read "At T/P/O Sgt. XXX observed....deft did not have any ID", and you will be signing all the supporting dep paperwork. And take 2 cops off patrol to goto bookings for someone that had no warrants or any arrest history.

Yup, some narcotics guy.  It makes sense if he's staying 30 pension wise.

If your Variable supplement gets banked...and a 1/60th gets added to your pension....
How do you lose money?

You don't. That myth has been refuted numerous times at the pension seminars. Which, btw, are amazing if anyone hasn't attended one yet.

No pension expert here, but I thought they stopped adding the 1/60 after five years or 25 years OTJ. But I thought you could bank the VSP of $12,500 per year?
