Updated NOE for 2013 Exam

Can anyone who has any more information on this e-mail sent by DCAS share some insight?

I thought this might just be a generic e-mail they always send out before the test reminding you that they can test mostly anything...but others I've spoken to believe it means one thing: 2011 LT test all over again. I hope not and I don't see the rhyme or reason why they would go down the path again after the 2011 disaster.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT/UPDATE: Just got an e-mail from The KEY. They said it DOES NOT MEAN it will be a 2011 LT Test all over again, but that some of us might be taking the exam on a computer. Nothing to do but to keep studying!

Just a heads up, received an email indicating the notice of examination for the 2013 Sergeants exam was amended.  The last time that happened was on the 2011 Lieutenant's exam and everyone knows how that went.  Hopefully the promotion classes will make you guys aware of the difference(s) of both NOE's.

Why is this under the 2011 exam thread.

Because some people who are on the 2011 list are taking the 2013 test as well Semp

FYI, Rising Star sent the following out to their sergeant students:

2013 Sergeant Exam Course Students:
Be advised that an "Amended Notice of Examination" was published for your test. After careful review, Rising Star Promotions has found the only substantive change to the original notice appears in "The Test" section whereby DCAS has added the following statement:
"The multiple-choice test will contain additional questions which will be used for research purposes only. These questions will not count toward your test score and will not be included in the protest review process. However, you should answer all the questions in the test booklet.
While we cannot be certain exactly what that means, Rising Star Promotions assumes that they will most likely ask you to answer research and/or statistical information type questions (i.e. survey). Since it will not affect your score in any way, do not let it interfere with your regular exam questions that do count! Do not get hung up reading any "optional" questions and take a chance of it slowing you down or distracting you. If, at the end of your completed examination process you have the time and inclination to answer those questions, then that's your choice. From what we are reading here, it appears that you are under no obligation to answer those additional questions for research purposes.
The remainder of "The Test" section in the notice is the same as before. As you know from studying with us, anything is fair game and you should expect some level of Grammar, Math, and/or Leadership questions to be asked - that hasn't changed. Don't be overly concerned with this amended notice and read into it - it appears they are just doing a "CYA" to add the research questions into the test booklet.
As always, good luck and study hard!
