Yeah technorat if you got passed over call IAB I am sure they will give you all the details of the case they have open against you.
Not for nothing, but why do you have to be such a diick? I'm sure if you weren't expecting to be passed over for promotion and found yourself in that situation, you'd be looking for someone to call as well. One of the reasons why this job is going down the tubes is because of douche remarks like this. Why don't you stop being an assshole and try helping a fellow cop out. Or, just shut up if you have nothing useful to say.

Education tracking unit will not give you a reason why you are being held up. If you want sum answers go thru ur delegate and have them make some phone calls.
SBA may help a little but like technocrat asked isnt their a unit u call just to find out if and why u may be passed over,,,,,is it uniform promotions?.....Brat do u know.....
I just went through this process. It is not uniform promotions or educational tracking; you must call performance monitoring at 1pp. several mos there are responsible for clearing you. They can tell you where the hold is coming from.
Thank u smart cookie & walter. I called uniform promotions and they said they can't tell me if I'm going to be held up. They only can tell me if my education requirements haven't been met. Now with performance monitoring unit I never was on performance monitoring. Never modified or suspeneded. All 4's on my evaluations. However, i had charges &spec for administrative reasons done with n closed two years ago. I'm only concerned bc of an pending opened log a cop dropped on me. Will that hold me up

Yes. If you are the subject of Charges and Specs within the last 5 years, then you will be called for CARB. It is possible that for the Charges, you may not actually have to meet the 3 Chiefs, as I recall another MOS on this board told of meeting with a boss (Inspector I think) and then was cleared without anything more. I know if you were ever suspended you definitely will have CARB.
As for the log- it depends. If you are the subject and it will be clearly unsubstantiated or better, then the case shouldn't hold you up. But that is at the discretion of the CO of the Investigative Unit or IAB Group who is carrying the case. If the log was just opened recently, and the investigation has just started, then it is very likely that you may have to wait until it is farther along before the CO of the IU will give you clearance. They are promoting 26 Monday Morning. Last number being promoted is 295. Next up for promotion is 296. Looks like they skipped 3 Sgts and went back and cleared 2 passovers......
