I was at Phase 1 yesterday and they said in May they're going to make 13 capts and 25 Lts and no word on Sgts, but IF they did put in a class of sgts there's only room for 50 Sgts. Sgts were not a definite but its likely. I'm praying they have a class in May and June because June would be my class unless there are a lot of passovers in the 600s.

One of the cops from my pct went to phase 1 yesterday and they said definitely at least 50 for next month. You might get in!

The Lt said the class on holds 75 but they are going to promote 25 Lt so there is only room for 50 Sgts if they do promote Sgts next month. I didn't think they would share a room but maybe they do split the room. 75 sgts last month was the only promotion there were no Lt or Capts promoted last month.

That's not at all what they said yesterday stop bull****ting. They said 50 were goin in At the end of the month for lts. also brat confirmed 50 in the lts forum. What lt ng said about the sgts Class was he basically expects the room to be at capacity which is 75. He also said that there are a ton of sgts retiring and he expects the classes to be heavy for a few months. I'm tired of people posting nonsense. I'm not speculating I was at phase 1 yesterday. They made no mention of having 25 lts and 50 sgts in one room.

You are misreading my post. I didn't to post get rude comments. Lt. Ng said the were definitely promoting capt and lts and WASN'T SURE if sgt or how many. But they only have room for 50 more people .(And yes he also mentioned everything you said about the retirement) Then a few of us asked at one of the breaks cause they were trying to see if we could get more info but they didnt confirm nor deny. We asked why only 50 because last month was 77 and he said because they are promoting 25 lts. Im just saying what I heard I have no reason to lie I'm waiting to get promoted too and can't wait. So saying that I'm B.S.ing was necessary and I'm not posting nonsense. I hope 50 going in but I didn't hear that confirmed. You can tell 10 people a story and everyone will hear it differently. We are all coworkers no need to be nasty. But if you have better info then post it. I was there as well. When did they confirm that they were definitely taking sgts? Maybe I didn't have my listening ears on at that time. I saw sometimes post there was going to be a big class for April and nothing.

I heard the Lt's class is supposed to be a mega class as far as Lt's go, so your 25 can't be correct. And from what Brat has posted there is enough room. No one is trying to be nasty, its just everyone gets on the new guy that suddenly has "confirmed info". Too many trolls on here I guess. Thanks for passing along what you find out though

Thanks, that's just what I'm doing. I know I heard Lt. Ng say they were going to promote 13 capts, 25 Lt and they were not sure about Sgts but they there would be space for 50 sgts if they promoted. I was at Phase 1 so maybe what they said in Financial planning and Phase 1 they mixed up. It could be 50 Lts but I wrote it down as he was saying it and they said 25 lts to us. I still don't know what that has to do with promoting Sgt they need to just do 75 for the next few months. They were saying a lot of sgts are leaving around this time as well. PLEASE UNDERSTAND NOTHING ON THESE POST IS WRITTEN IN STONE. For me, I posted what I personally heard from the horses mouth yesterday not second hand information and I didn't hear a confirmation of a sgts class. BUT THINGS CHANGE EVERYDAY TUESDAY THEY MAY SAY SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND HOPEFULLY CONFIRM A SGTS CLASSES AND I'M PRAYING FOR BIG BIG CLASSES FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.

You guys do realize that a lot of times even the instructors don't know about BMOC numbers or what's going on with BMOC until the finest actually comes down which is when they have to figure out how to make room for every one. OMAP doesn't let them know anything that much ahead of time. Most of the BMOC instructors are giving their own opinion about promotion rates while some on this forum take it as gospel and post misinformation. I know it's hard to believe that the actual instructors at BMOC don't know much more then you or myself but its a very true fact Which is why they have no idea about next month's sgt BMOC yet. No one has told them or tells them any thing same as you or I. Matter of fact think about how many times we hear rumors before the instructors know. Sometimes days before them.

Yesterday I attended financial planning at the academy and the female sgt that does the bmoc classes at approximately 8am told us at the end of the month 50 new Lts and 13 capt and NOT sure abt sgt promotions

The Sgt and Lt BMOC s won't be small. Fact. Stop being a troll. And yes, don't take all as fact because things change the day of sometimes. OMAP does their magic and calls personnel and says this is what is happening. If something doesn't work out for you,take a deep breathe and relax. Your time will come. Your a cop,not a high school kid who keeps asking the teacher what you got on the test. Relax. Also---stop the bs rumors. No one with any knowledge of BMOC has said anything about small classes. If for some reason they said that at the academy---they know crap. It will NOT be small classes and they now are saying they will promote the ENTIRE list. Yes. That is what I'm getting now so relax,your time will come,and please stop the panic mode Or temper tantrums I see on here. That's what I got.

thank you ondeair2321 for reaffirming that things change and that certain people claim to know stuff and it is nothing. Waiting for my turn I appreciate you posting what you heard, but it was probably inaccurate. Certain people "in the know" on this site have already posted a mega LT class coming at the end of the month and most likely another class the month after because of capt promotions and retirements. This is great news to everyone. Hopefully everyone will get made off the Sgt list and Lt list and the time waiting will be much shorter because of the mass exodus of retirements. good luck to all.

Wow. These forums are funny. Thought it was a good place to hear and share info about the upcoming promotions but it seems as if the comments aren't read thoroughly. I'm not saying that what I heard was accurate or that it was the final word thats just what they said on that day. Like I said things change daily. I'm not new to this job just to this forum... Thats being said I know that they can say one thing one day and it changes the next day. Like I said thats what the instructors said you guys should be taking everything that is posted on these forums with a grain of salt. Way to serious!!! AND NEVER ANY REASON TO BE RUDE. WE'RE ARE ALL GROWN UPS AND COWORKERS THAT HAVE TO RELY ON ONE ANOTHER TO HAVE EACH OTHERS BACK WHEN STUFF HITS THE FAN.

I think the problem is it doesn't matter how accurate the rumor is. People want to hear what they want to hear so just be careful putting negative info even if you're trying to do the right thing.
