Ok so the classes are going to continue at rate of about 45-50 as of now for sgt and they plan on making the Oct Sgt Exam in 2013 effective in April 2014(establishment of the new list). The LT exam for Spring of 2014 is still in full effect---they plan on getting the test writers by early fall---the word will go out then and you should see a tentative date on DCAS for the exam. Im sure the study courses will be leaking it around that time. Thats the latest I got from the puzzle palace guys---when i get I give and when I get more u ll b first to know. Stay safe.
oh---and also A LOT of units are picking up. ESU,Harbor,HWY----all will be picking up in the spring and summer. in case u guys got apps in---expect interviews to be coming down the pike forthwith. OCCB will also be having a lot of openings for sgts due to a bunch of sgts drafted who will be promoted Lt s before the fall. just in case this interests u if u apply u WILL get picked up.
definitely NOT FACT. trust me i know nothing---it is completely my friend at personel. he gives me the latest of whats going on and i pass it along. hes barely wrong though. if their saying steady id say another 500-600 no?? maybe an off month for vacations for bmoc staff? thats just my opinion though.
Lets all keep in mind just because a new list is established that doesn't meen the current list will be killed, of course anything is possiable. But a new list has been established before the last few tests have been completely exhausted so the city can continuously promote when they are ready.
honestly havent didnt hear anything for march on friday but evidently they re going to be promoting steady for the next forseeable future. so i d say things look good for it
The 2009 list was held for a really long time, so I think for those deeper on the 2011 list have to hope for something similar to happen to have any chance of getting promoted. If they just proceed to set the new list and start promoting after only 6 months of the 2013 exam, several hundred will not get promoted.
I think it took well over a year, maybe even closer to two, for the 2009 list to start getting promotions. Not sure, but it was a really long time. Point is if DCAS, 1PP, Da Job, whomever decides to establish a list and hire off it ASAP (6 months from Oct 2013) then there would only be about 13 months left for promotions off the current list. At the rate its been going, if that is true and the moons align that way that 900+ number is reasonable.
I hope so, I got all my eggs in this one basket. I don't think I'm going to be able to study for this next one. I hope these guys pick up the pace with these promotions
