It'll be interesting how this will play out.

I am not surprised that something like this happened. I am thinking that The Fast Track lost a substantial amount of students/money due to yanosik forming his own company. Will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

GO yanosik. This is beyond stupid. Yanosik was FAST TRACK, the only instructor who really seemed to care and made a difference. I didnt know that the patrol guide belonged to FAST TRACk, that is pretty funny. I would stand by him in a second. Just for your information, the instructor from Fast TRack who went to the protect session for LT exam 1534 to help us get more points was none other than, Yanosik, you should not be surprised. Let them sue, Yanosik made his own website.

Cop sued in test swipe

  • Last Updated:12:32 AM, January 22, 2013

Two former NYPD officials are accusing a current captain of stealing documents and clients from their police-test prep company, according to a multimillion-dollar lawsuit filed in Nassau County.

The owners of Fast Track, the prep service for the departments sergeant, captain and lieutenant exams, filed the suit against their former business partner and his Elite Training test-prep company.

Retired NYPD Deputy Inspector Albert Becker and retired Capt. Steven Zolga claim that current Capt. Mike Yanosik, 43, of Smithtown, stole their business model and materials when he ditched their firm in November 2011, the suit says.

The duo also accuses Yanosik of poaching their former NYPD clients and appropriating their manual known as the Total Guide according to the suit.

The materials provide summaries of the often-times confusing and seemingly contradictory policies and practices of the NYPD, the suit notes.

The manual provides test-takers with mnemonic devices to remember complex policies, said Fast Track attorney Charles Horn.

About 3,000 customers pay $800 for a prep class each year, Horn said.

Yanosiks lawyer, Steven Silberling, denied the claims.

I agree with Nycop80 ... Al was horrible!!! Zolga was okay and Yanosik kept the kid up and focused and that's why I passed ... It's an act of desperation because fast track is now dead ... As he said he actually gives a **** and you get that in the lectures that keep u motivated ... Al would be teaching a majority of fast track and it would be like that professor from ferris Buellers day of "any one any one ..." " bueller ... bueller ... bueller ..."

I took the fast track, when Al Becker was the instructor I just went home. Yanosik, was the best out of them all. Zolga and the chief were good too. But yano was always the one doing the bulk of the work for them

I thought Yanosik was retired too? Anyway he was the heart and soul of FT. He was at my Lt exam protest, if I study for capt, I would take whatever school he runs, he is so much better than the other instructors, it's not even close. It's like comparing Adrian Peterson to other nfl running backs, there is a big gap...

Yanosick was a part of my last GO less than a year ago. Maybe he retired after the summer?

I second that sentiment!! Yanosik, by far and wide, was the best instructor at Fast Track. Mike genuinely does care that his students succeed. He has a thorough knowledge of what he teaches and does an excellent job of delivering that knowledge to his students. Also, Mike is able to connet with people on human level, in other words, he doesnt approach his student as  being mere subordiantes / low ranking mos. The last quality is what other Fast Track instructors lacked enormously, in particular, Al, and, hence, explains FT's last desperate measure in attempt to keep its (proverbial) head above the water. Best of Luck to you, Mike. I hope you beat them at their silly games!!!

Just got an email from the fast track guys, 15 bucks a class for walk ins. It says a lot for Yano when all the students leave with him. Something tells me the fast track will be a fond memory after this exam.
