You'd find out officially the Wednesday or Thursday before. You will just have to call BMOC and let them know you're missing the first day, and have your precinct fax a copy of your 28. Since you are chart changed effective Saturday at 0001, you'll be RDO Sat and Sun and won't need to use your vacation days for those two days.

So they will most likely be expecting me on the first day. Would it be acceptable to miss the first day cause I am flying from overseas?

I missed my first day because I was away too. Just call up the Leadership Development Section (I think that's the name of the office) once you're officially notified to go in and they'll tell you what to do. You'll only miss some orientation and paperwork stuff.

There is no sgt. promotion in month of January. The finest message for Feb class will possibly come on Jan 30th Wednesday. There is no Sgt.'s BMOC going in on Jan 28th. Jan 28th will be the first day of Cap/Lt leadership course. ***********************( Jan 28th Confirmed is misleading)****************

On Friday, LT. NG told us that there will be Capts and LT getting promoted and about 50 Sgts going in for the FEB BMOC. That's all he stated.

Check again in the promotion in January thread. She said yes about SGTs just that she don't know how many. Ima leave up confirmed and not but a date just incase. But either way we talking about 1 week difference so what's the big deal? all that matter is that it is confirmed

You guys are a little confused. It doesn't matter if the class starts the last week of January or the first week of February. The majority of the class and the promotion date is in February, which will make it the "February Class".

Just recieved a 49 stating that i must attend phase one training on jan 17. does this mean that they are getting a class ready for feb or that there will not be a class in feb????

also two of my friends are going for carb hearings next week. just wondering if this info means any thing

Phase 1 is a 1 day training at the academy. Basically a preview of what you going to be doing in the actual leadership training when you get the call.

I wonder why some people get called to go down for Phase 1 and some people dont. Is there some kind of criteria? The fact that you are being sent to Phase 1 AND some guys are going to CARB is a very good sign that there will be a Feb class. Just curious, the two guys that are going to CARB, did they just hit their 5 year mark or do they have over 5 years already?

I'm less then 150 names away and I haven't been to or notified to attend phase 1 while I know people who are well below me on the list that just got notified to attend phase 1. Why is that?

I understand that most get promoted without ever getting notified to attend phase 1 but if there is a phase 1 coming up shouldn't the people closer to promotion attend as oppose to someone who is further down the list?

They don't have the tax numbers to go with the names on the list. So sometimes they don't bother to notify someone for phase 1 if they share the same name with another cop to avoid notifying the wrong cop. Also I heard your command can decline to send you.

I got ntfd fro the 17th as well. From what I remember friends of mine have been promoted without going and some have gone. I don't think it's a requirement but it will be a day off of patrol so that's cool.
