Nothing's guaranteed. And there's already been down months in the 2012 calendar year. Granted from the 2009 list but still a down month.

With DCAS already establishing a filing date for the next Sgt exam, I think the job is looking to blow through this list, so I don't see how we'll have any down months.

Nope. Doesn't mean that. Even with a test in sept 2013. The list wouldn't be established until April/may 2014. Activation of that list will happen 4-6 months later when the 2011 list is completely done. They're blowing through the list even with down months it's on track to be done before 2015.

Gut feeling from seeing how things normally work. 2008 list went almost a year as 2009 list waited to be activated after it was established. Last BMOC class of 2008 list was half 2008 and half 2009 in one BMOC class. I'm realistic. It's obvious what's going to happen. The list is getting blown through fast. The dept has 10,000 eligible retiree's in the next 3 years. Many being bosses they need all the sgts they can get. I mean what do people think will happen? The dept will just cut a list unnecessarily 2 years in. Sorry it's not going to happen. I said it before and ill say it again. This whole list wil be made by January 2015.

could it also mean dcas may end the current list with names still on it?? i dont think the job would do this,but to go through 1600 plus names within such a short period?? anything can happen but its def prob good news for guys waiting to get promoted

This is only a tentative template of when exams could be scheduled give or take a few months. I do not think the Dept would kill this list due to the possibility of the next test having a low passing rate. That coupled with massive retirements would leave the job very short on supervision which we all know the job does not want.

Now my question is, should I still take the 2013 Sgt test, since I'm near the bottom of this list? This new test rumor is getting me a lil nervous, since it goes back to the point some of the trolls were making about this list being cut short. Thanks.

Ok so I heard from someone that is in the know that the december class has a tentative start date of december 3rd and it is going to be on the larger side. Im also hearing that the job is looking to have non stop back to back BMOC's til june of 2013. Now Ive never been a person who spreads false info so please dont hold me to this, but the person works in an office that knows this info. Fingers are crossed that it all comes true. **** the trolls guys. Things are looking very positive

Just to throw it out there but 2 classes in at the same time has happened before. They would have 1 class in at the academy and the other class would do a outside training like the range and Switch up every week (not all training is in that academy room). Don't think it will happen but it's a possibility.

Im heari g a ridiculous number like 80 something but I believe the max capacity is 75. Ill say to be safe probably between 60-70 upfront promotion would be friggin awesome although I havent heard anything about that yet. I hope what Im hearing is true also guys

They were just recently assigned to the unit they are getting the info from. They wouldnt have had access to such info before that. The place they work definitely would be a source of quality info regarding this topic
