If anyone knows the answer to this, if I need to delay my promotion due to job related reason, for example, you working on a case and can not leave. What would happen,someone told me they put you all the way to the back of the list, is that true.
Yeah, unless its for serious family reasons, or you are a month or two away from getting your shield, I wouldn't defer promotion. If you are truly that invaluable to the case you are working on right now like pumas said, they will send you back as a supervisor on temporary assignment.
