I got notification about the tvb reading august 7th

I however can not attend. Was wondering if anyone else was going to go and try to take some notes on the questions they threw out or didnt throw out. I will be on a cruise during that time.

I spoke (through e-mail) with Tony Raganella from Rising Star. Believe it or not, he not only attended the actual exam and the protest session to help us, but he went to the Test Validation Board (TVB) reading yesterday to review all the throw outs for a few hours! He said that lots of questions that were thrown out, were thrown out for reasons that didn't make much sense to him. Also, he said that DCAS is so screwed up, they had numerous typos and glaring errors even in the TVB Report which made things very confusing. As far as the judgment and leadership questions are concerned, they actually granted a protest of question # 93 based upon his interpretation and citing of that police supervision book by Iannone. He also stated that went late and didn't see anyone else that had signed in before him, so he thinks he may have been the only one to attend???? Lastly, he acknowledged that he didn't have to attend the TVB Reading, but by doing so, he feels he gained some insight into the thought process of DCAS when they originally formulate the questions and then later decide on protests.

Anyway, thanks again to Tony and Rising Star, as well as the other schools that helped out (I think Mike from Fast Track also went to one of the protest sessions). I guess the effort by the schools to know as much background info as possible helps in the quality of the material they put out....

I was there at around 1 and I was by myself in the room. I think there were 3 or 4 rooms total I took a glimpse in other room and it was empty. Not a surprise but they did make mistakes and half of their explanations didn't make sence. Half of our protested Qs were not valid because we didn't write them properly. There should of defenately been more Qs with dbl or triple answers. I believe the Q with rmp accident going thru the light was the most appealed. It had 138 appeals but only 40 were valid appeals and the rest of 98 appeals didn't count because as I said we didn't write it properly. The proposed answer choice didnt change for this Q. Question number 20 involved cell theft based on interm order 52 of 2009 from 207 but he the test wrote it as 207-52 which doesnt exist. Their explanation for not throwing out the Q was that even though 207-52 doesn't exist they meant it to write as I.O. 52. Pathetic
