What's up with a July class? If they promote guys to Sgt on the 29th that havent yet completed BMOC then what do they do with them until the actually complete it? Just curious..

There shouldn't be any up front promotions to sgt... There is no talk of a july class or any future classes at the moment. If some how there was.. they would more then likely assign them to emd until next bmoc class

People werw saying that Det. Brennan was getting promoted on the 29th and Just like the BMOC before they promoted 3 right before they went into the current BMOC - I just thought it would be strange for them to promote up front without having a class about to go in. They obviously do it for seniority reasons. I don't think July is out of the question just yet. We should know something by the end of this week I would think.

up front promotions are usually done for people who were eligible to go into the current bmoc class, but the dept wasn't able to clear up the mistake in time. they get promoted upfront and get temp assignment somewhere as a sgt until the next bmoc class is scheduled. then they attend the next bmoc class.
